But really can lab traps be defended against?

I've heard roughly equal amounts of people saying Armour and resistances help against labyrinth traps, and equal amounts of people saying they don't. I can't test personally until tomorrow so of course as am instant gratification seeker of the technology-spoiled generation I am asking you guys to do it for me instead.

Without rigorous testing it seems like Armour doesn't help against spike traps.

Easy way to test assuming trap mechanics are universal is to stand on lava floor areas with -60% fire res vs 75% fire res.

I have been told fire resistance affects lava floor and fortify affects dart/spike/etc initial hits.

It was also apparently possible to block darts during alpha but I don't know about the current situation.
yes. with clever movement and good timing

I dont think enabling mitigation on traps would make any sense. You can test the fire resist thing easily, also Immortal call.. Fortify should also be noticeable because traps should do the same damage (relative to your HP) all the time

Armor only helps against on hit mechanic. Some of the Traps applying simply bleeding damage, which is a dot. Armor doesn't do anything against it.

You can, however, use a Basalt flask. It will reduce both, initial hit and bleeding damage

I believe a lot of traps do physical damage over time. Fortify would help against the darts and spikes, but will do nothing for other traps, because those do Damage over Time, which Fortify does not protect you against.

But yes, Immortal Call will protect you from most traps.
from observation, it looks like physical mitigation from basalt and armor reduce trap damage.

I don't feel any difference between running solo (sub-1k Armour) and having my mate's Guardian along (sup-12k Armour). Makes sense, because as stated earlier in the thread, Armour doesn't apply to Damage over Time under any circumstance.
I'm sure fire res help with lava flor.

yep Fire Res definitely helps with Lava Traps. My Marauder which has generally higher fire resistant can just walk around on them as longer than my other build.

Fire res helps against the lava trap.

Armor/reductions help against: Floor Spikes, Cleavers, Darts (which can be blocked)

You cannot reduce: Spinning Logs, Sawblades, Roombas (these are pure degens).
