change base item type of an unique?

Hi
not sure if this is the right place for this question so please forgive me if i'm wrong. i have the quill rain short bow. There isn't any other bow that comes even close to shooting at 4.26 / sec . But now has come the time to choose a new bow because the damage output iw WAY too low. Is there a way to upgrade the base item (short bow) to another bow with higher base stats like a composite bow or something like that? If so, how? You cannot get Quill Rain's stats on any other bow type. Uniques are... Unique :p

Base type stays same always.
Not sure what skills you are using, but likely dropping to a hard-hitting, slow bow at the highest level you can use will give you a HUGE increase in killing efficiency. Shooting slower, you should be able to use more expensive (mana cost) supports to increase your damage whereas shooting really fast with those same supports and quill rain would do pitiful damage and cost tons of mana per sec. |
