How do you watch the timer?

Reading through a not insubstantial number of threads I have subsequently learned these answers to my questions:

a) If your account is selected by the timer, a key isn't issued. Instead, your account is simply set as a Beta member, and an email and PM sent to notify you, and,

b) Keys are given out by GGG staff externally to the timer process, either to Beta testers to share with friends or whomever, or to others, such as members of the "press" (including streamers or what have you) who can then distribute them to those who follow their work. Giveaway contests are another way GGG distributes Beta keys, either on social networks like Twitter, or in-Beta contests such as a HC race.

If in any of these particulars I'm wrong, or if there is more to the process, please lemme know! =^[.]^=

Most of the people in this thread have the beta. Most I've seen yet.

But thats more because im easy to distract, from what ive seen this game is gonna be AWESOME!

Im Bioengineering the timer into my brain so i don't even have to look at the screen
