How to craft a good item?

Orbs being rare as they are, its a little worrying for new players to use those high level orbs. Could any of the veteran players help with process of creating a piece of end game gear?

I know that you take a piece of level 58-60 gear. Use jewelers orbs until you get 5-6 sockets. Then use orbs of fusing until you have 4-5 linked sockets. After that use chromatics to get the desired colors.

Now as for getting good mods it gets more confusing. Can somebody describe the process?

basically, I click on the orb I wish to use and then I click on the item I want to mod (I usually close my eyes and hum "A few of my favorite things", I've found it helps).

Other then that, the only thing you have any control of are the scouring orbs and armor shards.. everything else is completely random, anyone else who claims otherwise is delusional (there is no technique involved).

Personally, I like to take an item, scour/jewlers/fusing/chrom's.. then I make it magical, and re-roll/scour until I get 2 great mods, and then I make it rare. I trade my alc's or use them on rings and other things that are pretty common and whose mods play a smaller role in my overall build.

Nowadays scouring orbs seem to be pretty rare and together with the high prices of regals and exalted, we decided that alch + chaos yields the best results (as-in cheapest to get decent things) on most equip. If you only have 1 or 2 mods you really care about alot then transmutation + alteration until you get these ones is the better way (though you need to invest one regal and some exalted after rolling your desired two mods if you want 6 mods).

Although in comparison not that expensive, I recommend whetstoning/scrapping the quality when your item is white ;)

Hi, i use to spend points on the skill tree to raise my chance of get rarer objects and use pendants and geat that increase this chance too, i also put some point on increase the the drop rate so i can more and better objects from a beginning and i begin from there.

Sometimes i left the objects untouched just as they're because they're good enough for my needs.

Getting an increase of the rare objects you get orbs & skill gems more often and not just gear. Let's C ya
