Best siege ballista supports in 4L

Trying to make a scion that focuses around siege ballista. With the hierophant ascendancy I can get 2 siege ballistae, but only if I slot it in my helm. (if I understand correctly) So I'm stuck with a 4L max.

Now how would I get the most damage out of ballista? I was thinking about using rupture with gmp to apply bleed and link the ballista to bloodlust, but I just found out that only boosts melee damage. :P

So what would be good supports for ballista?

Thanks in advance.

I've never used it, but from what I've heard there's a delay between when the ballista targets an enemy and when it fires, so having multiple projectiles will be somewhat mandatory.

Why not pick
and go ranger?
To answer your question, lmp and phys to lightning should be pretty good.
I've got an iron commander, but it seems like quite a hassle to get enough dex and still get enough defenses to make it better than just having a great bow.

Never tried phys to light, I'll give it a shot.
I run a templar Hierophant build with siege ballista.

I use a 5l lioneye's bow (yay no accuracy concerns - better than iron commander imo) 100% phys to fire conversion (AoF) and elemental overload (3 totems plus me cursing and critting). My links are as follows:

I use the totem gem that fires 2 more projectiles at 31% reduced damage (not less, yus!).

Im sure the same could be done on the dex side of the tree with iron commander, no accuracy concerns, traditional crit, but only a few totem-specific node clusters.

LMP is completely unnecessary because you should be using Rain of Splinters

You should use: Siege Ballista + Added Fire + Faster Attacks + Slower Projectiles for your 4-link, and then use Weapon Elemental Damage for the 5-link, and Physical Projectile Attack Damage(though, maybe Increased Crits would be better) for the 6-link.

Iron Commander is awesome, and getting dex isn't as hard as it might seem. If you hate trading, it will be... But, that's just the nature of the specific stats you need, sorry.

Check out this build or this other one if you want to do a Iron Commander Ranger, or my build here, if you want to do it with Scion (Pro-Tip: Scion's better because you get 60 dex for free in Ascendant).

Taking select elements of your choice from each build will probably result in the best build for you, because each of these builds do take very different approaches to how it should be used. Really, it shows how well designed the unique is when so many different methods can be used to enable it.

Good luck!

Also: Drillneck gives you 100% increased damage for free, you should exploit that.
Ballista-Faster attack-Added Fire damage-Culling Stike

Culling Strike starts slow, but at lvl 20 is +38% increased damage, and the ability to instagib a target below 10% is amazing on tougher bosses.

Consider a Chin Sol (100% more damage at close range) and drop the totem right on top of what you wanna kill.
Thanks for the replies, that jewel does sound like a good idea!
