What to do with this Chaos Orb?

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to this game(level 11 at the moment) and I found a chaos orb. Looking online (at --link removed--) I found all these different trade rates for the chaos orb, but I have no idea what to do with the stuff I trade it for. For example, would I want to trade it for alchemy orbs or gem cutter prisms? See? I have no clue. Suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Thanks for reading!

For now, just save all the orbs and shards you get. By the time it's actually important to know what to trade for and when, you'll be much higher level, and have found out a bit more along the way. That's how it's been for me, anyway. :D

So I should just bank all of the orbs I get and forget about them? Is it not worth it to use the orbs on low level items?

Correct. For example, you can probably get a level 40-40 very nice item for the chaos orb, once you've leveled up and committed enough skill points to know what you want. If you spent it on a low level item, you'd never be able to get anything close for it later. I didn't use a single orb until I was about level 40. It'll make sure you get more for your money. :D

Don't use any currency on your low level items unless you desperately need an upgrade and crafting an item would cost less than trading for one.


Also, the more you play the more you will understand how currency and items interact with one another. There's no rush to use the currency you find.

Well Chaos orbs don't drop often, so you should save those for later OR use it to buy good equipment later on.

Some of the valuable orbs as well are Orb of Alchemy, Exalted orbs, Divine orbs, Orb of Fusings and Jeweller's Orb. Not sure if I missed any but there you go.

It seems appropriate to add that Chaos Orbs are among the most useful currencies, if not the most useful, since you can basically get a new rare out of your current ones.

+1 to not spending/using any currencies for now. You may be tempted to, but it really pays off to hoard as much as you can and invest heavily in gear you're going to be using for a long time (post 70-ish gear).

Save up!
