Stibnite Flask - mechanics question
|
Does the 100% evasion rating stack with +xx% evasion rating affix one can roll on this flask?
I have an unbuffed 3400 Evasion Rating on my duelist (mostly from Shield + Shield Passives). When I drink this flask: It jumps to around 13k+ Evasion However when I drink the Stibnite I get around 6.5k Evasion It seems that the 100% roll overwrites the +94% affix on the flask. Stats from the tree: +36% Armour and Evasion +130% defences from equipped shield Note: I know about the Smoke Cloud/Blind etc - I'm only interested in the affix question, not what flask is better/best and why Last bumped on Mar 13, 2016, 11:38:33 AM

" What is your base evasion though? Because +Evasion % counts from your base evasion. Shield passives do not modify base evasion, it just adds to your evasion separately. |

+208 dexterity it seems that the 100% roll from Stibnite simply overwrites the other +ev% roll on the flask. similar to how you cannot have two +ev% rolls on two different flasks - only the strongest takes the effect a bummer :/ |

It doesn't override, I just checked with Stibnite of Reflexes and white Stibnite.
Stibnite of Reflexes gives more evasion. It's just less effective that Jade, cause %increases are additive with your dex bonus and passives, while Jade gives a huge +3k to base value. edit: which is fair, considering Stibnite got 3 uses, lasts longer and have a blinding cloud. hmm.. i havent had a chance to do comparative testing due to incredibly low drop rates of these flasks :/ but if it is like you say then it is a very interesting flask for a very high BASE (grace + 2k chest + 1k+ shield etc) melee build
will do more testing then the cloud is quite powerful vs single melee enemies (like Izy) but during normal clear you mostly are shot from afar and the cloud has little impact thanks for the info |

It's a fantastic Flask for any build with a little bit of Evasion - the Blind alone halves enemy Chance to Hit, so even with base Evasion that's pretty damn huge. :)

well. i know about the smoke cloud - but after trying it in practice this cloud is ONLY useful when fighting a face-to-face with a single enemy
everything shooting at me from outside the (small) cloud is not blinded and hits me without problems so i wanted to know if i can roll 'double' Reflexes on it and use it as a dual purpose flask: poor's man Jade for masses and powerful Blind flask for single melee enemies it seems that golem with Blind might be better as this flask cannot replace Jade of Reflexes on most (if not all) of my builds, sadly. and i cannot devote two slots for Jade/Stibnite combo |

" Well, I got like 4 or 5 Stibnites, but only 1 Basalt and no Sulfur at all :). " Oh yeah, it's also only 10 charges per use, so good!! Even thinking of trying it with close quarters armor char, halving enemy chance to hit should work wonders with only 5% chance to evade. |

Math, bruh.
Added base evasion > increased modifiers. It's the same reason flat life rolls are almost always better than just increased hp modifiers/nodes. |
|
" It does seem like the rolled value overwrites the implicit value. If it had the full 198% combined evasion, your evasion should be around 9800. Not your indicated 6500, which adds up with the 94% increased roll. I think the rolled evasion is overwriting the stated implicit value.
