Upgrading socket question

I am looking to buy a Pledge of Hands and have seen several that have less than 5 sockets. My question is as follows:
IF I buy a Pledge of Hands with less than 6 sockets, can I upgrade the sockets with a Jeweler's Orb or are the sockets permanently set since it is a unique? Sorry for the obviously newb question, but I am kinda new to all this. Many thanks for any input! Last bumped on Mar 12, 2016, 5:35:12 PM

You can reroll sockets on uniques with Jewellers Orbs, provided the item isn't Mirrored or Corrupted. I'd recommend making the item 20 quality before you use these however.

All the socket crafting orbs work just fine on uniques. The only orbs that don't work are those that change what mods or rarity an item has, for obvious reasons.
As a side note for the future (although it doesn't matter with Pledge because it is too high-level), be somewhat careful when buying low-level uniques for endgame use, as they might have an item level under 50, which means that you can't 6-socket them without using Vorici. Just that the probability of getting 6S is rather low. Probably 1 out of 150.
