Frost blade mechanic question, can't seem to find answer.

So if my understanding is correct, if I attack with frost blades, and the initial melee attack crits, the reuslting projectiles crit as well, please correct me if thats wrong.

Suppose I get "increased melee critical strike chance" nodes on the left side of the tree. Since frost blades is a melee attack, it would receive extra chance to crit, but would that mean I have scenarios where the initial attack will crit but the projectiles won't? or does it affect everything? meaning that increasing my melee crit chance would also effectively increase the chance of critting projectiles?

To my knowledge yes this is the case.

Buy gem with increased quality, it adds crit to projectiles .. i like this skill for leveling, playing as marauder

Afaik it rolls one roll for the whole attack. Let's say your chance to crit with the melee is 50%, and with projectiles is 45%. So it it rolls 45 or less it will crit with both. If it rolls over 50 it won't crit with either. But if it rolls in the middle then you'll get the only-melee-crit option. You'll never see it crit with only the projectiles if your melee crit chance is higher.

I might be wrong though since it's been a long time since I read about how it works XD.

Frostblades projectiles dont get any boost from something that does include the "melee" tag.

This das also include melee physical damage.
