Does "elemental Damage" stats affects (elemental) Spells?

Does "elemental Damage" weapon and passive stats affects Spells?

Hi there,

the mod "Weapon Elemental Damage" does not apply to Spells.
The tag "Elemental Damage" like from Skill nodes in the Witch area, are applied to spells.


Example:

The Skillnode 'Elementalist' near Templar startpoint gives you increased elemental Damage, which increases spell and weapon based elemental damage

The skill Gem "Weapon Elemental Damage" does not work with spells, only with weapon based (inflicted) damage from Attacks.

Would you mind to also explain me if the "Added XXX damage" (elemental dmg support gems) works on spells? I believe it comes with heralds as well.

Sure.

First one 'Adds xx Damage' Like the Added Chaos Gem - Adds the damage to spells and Attacks equally (depends on the skills damage effectiveness!)



the Other typs are xx damage to attacks or spells.




Some Weapons have 'adds xx damage to Attacks and/or Spells' too.

Don´t want to abuse your patience, but got another question (coming from a melee character, never dealt with spell setups): does hatred works? It´s a percentage of the physical damage so I guess it doesn´t but well, not sure. If so, should I look forward to Heralds or Ele dmg Auras?

It depends if the spell deals physical damage.

The spells that deal physcal damage are Shockwave Totem, Bear Trap, Ethereal Knives, Glacial Cascade, Bladefall, and Blade Vortex. So all of those work with hatred. (Hopefully I am not missing any)

As for the other Auras and Heralds it really depends on the build. I am sure most builds would want to run all of them because they do effect spells (note herald of ash works off physical damage and its explosions only procs on attacks, also Wrath gives x% more lightning damage so would only work if doing lightning damage) all the others just a matter of what you can fit.
