Izaro arena mechanics?
Not his attacks and such. He hits you, throws green shit at you, and it hurts. Easily understood. But I do not understand what's going on with the random crap in the arenas.
So far I've seen two, the one with the flame/lightning/frost conduits and the one with the charge disruptors. In both cases I clicked on them and there was a visual effect, but nothing seemed to happen. I didn't notice any explanatory text on them either, though I may have just missed it in the middle of the fight. What the heck do these do? And what other things like this are there? Idk about conduits but charge disruptor removes charges from Izaro. Can't say how he gets them though, maybe it is just timed, or on successful hits or somehow else.
Also you can see and read their descriptions before the fight. All that contraptions are in the room with a chest. Just look up, they are on some higher level to the right and left of the entrance to Izaro room. And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

Conduits grant izaro lightning/fire/cold damage on his attacks you can click to deactivate them for a few seconds, then they turn back on. Try have them deactivated before you finish the fight or their bonuses carry over to he final fight. I think they improve his specific reistances too. Charge disruptors remove charges izaro accumulates during the fight. I guess they give attackspeed/damage? Same deal, try to use the last one just before you finish the fight, or they carry over to the 3rd one.
If your build is strong though you can choose not to disable his buffs. He will then drop more treasure keys for the final room. I think. CliveHowlitzer wrote:

" I think something must be bugged then. Or I'm not understanding something. The conduits I understand. They need to be off when you finish him or they stay on for the final fight. Didn't know that but it makes sense now. But the disruptors baffle me. I had them all turned off by the end of the second fight, but when I got to the final fight he still had like 16 extra charges and he wiped the floor with me because of it. I think you must need to kill him in the second fight right after you remove all his charges or they will also carry over to the final fight. So, dont waste the disruptors i guess? This is pretty hard, largely because its difficult to judge how close he is to death in fights 1 and 2. You pretty much have to eyeball it, but a couple of pixels of his health bar represents a lot of health sometimes. Very finicky, and if you don't do it right hes like 10 times as hard in fight 3. Add on top of it that the labyrinth itself takes about an hour and you've got a big time sink that might not pay off. |

"He always dropped only one key, and i totally didn't care about his buffs. Maybe just bad luck though. edit: nope it is(was) my bad luck. dropped 2 keys just a moment ago on cruel. Okay, I get it now. Thanks for the explanations guys, and thank you silumit for telling me I can see the effects before the boss room.
That would explain why in the second fight everything was going fine and then I suddenly got oneshot. I clicked on all the disruptors early trying to see what they did, then ignored them for a long time when nothing obvious occurred. |

Bumping half to vent and half to ask more questions.
Fight with the elemental golems: Clearly I'm supposed to kill them before they touch Izaro. How the heck am I supposed to do that as melee when I can't 1-2 shot them? Fight with elemental idols: They can't die, says so on the tooltip. So how the heck do you get rid of them for the next encounter? I'm guessing they make a bunch of storm/frost/flamebearer things? All I know for sure is that I went from full to zero without getting hit by anything visible, then 5 or so seconds later bearer-looking effects appeared across the entire arena. edit: I do like the Izaro fight. I do. But I really wish these mechanics were better communicated before or at least during the fight. You can get some tooltip information during the fight. Sometimes anyway, it's inconsistent and incomplete. Or if you complete the fight while failing the mechanic, then you get mouse over them before the next fight like silumit said. After you can't do anything about it anymore. If you give me a good idea what's going on and I fail, that's one thing. But right now I just feel like I'm getting blindsided every time I walk into a different arena, and leave no more enlightened when I went in. Last edited by Nobake#4740 on Mar 17, 2016, 1:42:18 AM

i hope a lot of things in this topic will help you
pics/videos references to better understand izaro's mechancis for elemental golems' lure izaro at the other side of the room, the opposite of the golem to give you some time to kill it before izaro chases you again for the idols, you just need to keep their HP down and not let them get to full HP or they will appear in the next fight Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? "Sometimes it doesn't work, or maybe their "reappearance threshold" is lower than full-life. Fought Izaro couple of days ago and I'm absolutely (because, you know, double RF totems) sure that I had at least 2 idols deactivated at any given moment. Nevertheless, there were 2 idols active in the last fight. Not 3,1 or 0 - exactly two. maybe its a bug, aslong as an idol does not cast its spell they should not reappear
