Rise of the Phoenix or Springleaf for low life RF?
Springleaf is also usable from level 7, whereas RotP needs level 65. So if you want to use Low-life RF earlier on that level 65, then it's the only real choice, and it is better than Saffel's frame as well.
(Ruby flasks and life leech can help make up the difference.) Note that doing low life before 65 is probably only advisable if you aren't in a hardcore league. (Unless you are super hardcore, of course.) Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

@XCodesLIVE, yeah, I was sure off the top of my head that RoTP would be the better shield in the majority of cases, the breakpoint being quite so high is what surprised me a little.
@Sheriff_K Actually, after mathing out a few scenarios, I realised that your fire res doesnt actually matter in this calculation, since we are working off the differences in mitigation we are getting from RoTP, which is always the 8% res. So it doesnt matter what level of PoF you have, or how much aura effect you have. Level of PoF and aura effect may determine if you can use Springleaf instead of RoTP and still sustain, but it wont change which is better. As for the Patient Reaper, assuming you can keep 100% uptime, it is easy to plug in the increased regen and see where the breakpoint ends up - turns out that Springleaf would be better when your max ES is more than 10x your max HP, which again is almost impossible to achieve on a lowlife build where you are not using a high ES shield. So TL;DR of the thread: RoTP is always better than Springleaf in any practical setup, however that is not to say that Springleaf isnt usable as a budget alternative. EDIT* Btw, the 18x and 10x breakpoints arent rough values, they are exact. I found it mildly surprising that such calculations would result in integer breakpoints.
