I found a solution for me. Win7 x64.
Gone to https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48145 and downloaded the vc_redist.x64.exe. After that tried to install. The installation hanged at "proseccing: windows7_msu_x64". Canceled the installation, restarted the pc and tried to install again. Rapair/unistall dialog popped up, repaired and everything works now. |

" Than use google. Find a solution, why it fails. I didnt came up with the solution to installing my self, i googled "proseccing windows7_msu_x64" ... |

yea it seems like the error's are specific, start from the error number you get in the system error window from vc redist install (control+c to copy used to copy if not just move it and type it in), use that in google, also read the logs (also what I did, the redist install log, and the log from command line method - i believe they both goto the same log file).
from what I've seen the win8.1 error is different so the method of solution I imagine would be similar but maybe different, use the error numbers to find the correct solution. Considering the diversity in installs/systems it doesn't appear that one will fit all, my solution works for win7 x64 and the specific error number I posted a pic of when I first encountered it and posted in the bug forum. Hope that helps - good luck :) |
