Map discovery progress lost upon returning to town or leaving zone.

This is an issue I've been seeing since recent patch.

The moment I return to town and come back through portal or zone into a different zone all map progress is immediately lost. I wasn't afk or idle at all. Why is this happening and what fix or workaround can be done to fix this?
How long are you outside of the instance?

The instance can reset fairly quickly if you are out too long... in as little as 4-8 minutes I believe.
No time outside instance. I enter town portal then immediately come back to zone and the map is lost. This is repeatable each and every time. Zoning to a different zone and coming back immediately also causes it. This makes things very irritating for when I go back to town to sell or get killed in a map instance and have to go back because I lose ALL map exploration and have to re-explore the whole map. The map is still the same map and haven't been reset. The only thing changed is that I lost the map exploration progression.

There was some kind of a "bug" earlier (or should i call it "technical limitation") with minimap "exploration".

Check whether your "C:\Users\#####\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile" folder set to "read-only" or not.

Because when folder is marked "read-only", it, technically, doesn't store the progress of a map "visibility" because small files, which are responsible for that, can't be overwritten (or even saved).

Another thing which comes to mind is related to first one. Permissions.
if you don't have "administrator" rights on the current PC, or have "shared" MyDocuments folder (via LAN or whatever) it also can't save those small files.
Remember, suffering is convenient.
That is why many people prefer it.
Happiness requires effort.
I'm going to give this a try and see whether or not that is the cause.
It looks like that was the issue. POE exe didn't run as administrator and therefore couldn't update the folder under my documents. Thanks alot for your help!
