[2.2] Melee Inquisitor theorycraft
Has anybody considered a melee inquistor yet?
The idea is pretty intersting in my opionion but realy dont know how to build it properly. Some tips would be realy appreciated. I thought about something like this: https://www.pathofexile.com/fullscreen-passive-skill-tree/AAAAAwUBBLMHHg18DkgPxBEvEZYTzBhdGjgabBzcJpUnLyj6KgsrCjKJMtE1kjY9Otg7fDzvQYdDyEVHRZ1JUUmxTwRP81NSVUtXyVfiWfNboF3yYGVh4mKsaPJp_myMbWxwUnKpd-V8Dn_Ggh6Cm4LHiEKJ04wLjDaPGpBVkn2TJ5UumG-a4J2qoS-iAKKjp1WsqrQMtQS3PriTuMq5fL6KwGbBxcrT18_YvdsL3CPhc-Qi5c_quutj6-7ssOzL7SDviPAf8NXx_vcy98H5N_nd-ej-Cg== The idea was to get a high phys hammer and go wildstrike and phys to light so you convert all of your phys dmg to elemental. Or is it better to go with an ele weapon and elemental hit? d Edit: you obviously want the "elemental damage crits ignore resistances" Im sorry for my bad english(not my native tongue). It doesn't work imho. WS convert what you do as physical dmgs into a cycled effect between 3 elements. If you go phys/lightning you'll basically destroy your gem effect.
Also it has been proven that ws sucks for clearspeed, if you use a 2H stick to ground slam I guess. And if you're a cool kid mb vaal double strike complement for singles. Looking at your build you do not have any phys% on tree. Therefore it would be unwise to use any gem that scale out of your phys dmg :) (including ws) Last edited by galuf#4435 on Feb 27, 2016, 10:14:50 AM

" can you explain exactly why this build does not work? its not only because i have no phys% , is it? and what about elemental hit + a high eleDps hammer? do think this can work? |

This is more expensive than using other weapons, but if you are going to go with Inquisitor for its ability to ignore elemental resistances on hit on critical strikes, you are going to want to crit A LOT. That being the case, the best crit weapons for that area of the tree are staves. Ideally, I think a Hegemony's Era staff build would be super powerful--perhaps using Static Strike and picking up the AoE nodes in the Templar and Witch area. Maybe something like this (though I just threw this together so there are definitely better options for a crit staff build):

You don't have much of choice in terms of weapon selection if you wanna max your damage. Either dual wield Doryani's Catalyst or Hegemony's. Skills you should consider first are static strike and lightning strike as they reach 100% lightning conversion and are much easier to scale than other skills. Other options are ice crash, molten strike or any other melee ele conversion skills.
The build will have to be based on crit. The links will pretty much look like Static Strike-Multistrike-WeaponED-MeleePhys-Phys to Lighting-Crit chance/Crit Multi I did a 100% lighting static strike before it was nerfed with hegemony's and abyssus. However I had to use blood magic since there were no Attack damage leech nodes on the tree. Now you can drop blood magic for more damage, which is pretty huge. |
