I'm glad to see you'll be back to help out the community again. Keep up the positivity. I'm sure I'll be calling on you for ascendancy class advice at some point.

Coming back for Ascendancy and the new league, i'm thinking about trying something a bit different than i usually do.
So i'm looking for your ideas on a skeleton build for a Blade vortex tanky witch with the necro ascendancy to get the offering buffs (assuming it won't get butchered with the coming patch). The difficulty is, i'd like to go armor rather than acrobatics (i don't like acro anyway). -main skill will be Blade vortex (poison or added elemental damage ? Not sure with the poison nerf, i'd like poison better though, always good to have the mobs die by themselves if they run away with a few HP) -cybil paw + some unique shield, maybe Saffel until i can afford a Rathpith, or just a rare one -basic plan is just to spam whirling blade/BV and recast the offerings when needed -i thought about using The Anvil, as the offerings should cover easily the annoying penalties. Seems like a nice cheap addition to the build For the tree, just getting the increased aoe nodes near templar and witch, and the increased duration around scion seems mandatory for such a build. That leaves quite some room but i'm not sure on the best way to get enough armor to make it worth it. I'd like to get capped block and maybe spell block with the offerings. Otherwise i'm just looking for something cheap enough it will work from the start, with maybe some more expensive upgrades down the road. :) I hope you'll be inspired with that. :D |

" thats quite alot of words... like, more words then average, is it possible that we can maybe wait until ascendancy is out, so we can work together then? :P im still kinda away from PoE until the 3rd, 1 day from ascendancy :) i am still willing to help you :)) Twitch: twitch.tv/slayertip

I know i always write too much even if english isn't my main language. :D
And yeah, sure, go on as you wish (that's already nice from you to help with builds), i'll just make a rough build meanwhile as i plan to play quite a bit once it's out, and it will be my first character probably. The patch notes should make it easier anyway. Last edited by Axylxys#4902 on Feb 29, 2016, 11:16:18 AM

I want to do an Oro's flicker Duelist in ascendancy, what I remember from doing a flicker build in the past (when blood rage gave 100% frenzy charge on kill) is that projectiles (and a little AOE) is where the danger resides. Melee attackers start to swing only when I'm in range, and I'm already gone when they strike.
I'm not convinced by any of the solutions to this that I could find: CWDT Animate weapon Bone offering Convocation PROS: A meatshield of steel rocks! -Meatshield will absorb damage for me. -Blocking and spell blocking. Easy way to give weapons survivability (I'm not investing any minion point in the tree, maybe a +2 level Anger or Grace). -Convocation will make it even a tighter shield. I'll be only hit once per projectile burst (unless pierce/chain/fork is involved). CONS: So much lack of info! -Life: It isn't specified anywhere, if it's based on item level nice, if it's based on skill gem level bad. -AOEs: They are flying monsters, immunes to ground effects, but I have absolutely 0 idea of what % of enemies AOEs are ground effects. E.g: Is flameblast "ground"? Dominus/Voll punch? If there are as few "ground" skills as specified in the wiki, AOEs will annihilate my meatshield (multiple AOEs or hit+AOE, because of convocation). -Melee aim: Ranged enemies without and after using animate weapons will be firing projectiles 100% of the time, but melees don't work as them. Without weapons, they try to reach you, then you teleport to their face, they start a swing towards you, you hit and leave before they can strike anything. With weapons they will swing way more often and I'll have the problem I have with projectiles expanded to melees. UNLESS they are NOT TARGETABLE. I have been watching videos of animate weapons on youtube and I don't see monsters aiming to weapons... But I can be wrong (and provably are, because it doesn't make any sense). CWDT Frost Wall Temporal Chains PROS: Game of Thrones' Wall keeping zombies afar from you! -You encounter enemies in packs, and ranged enemies stay in packs. One wall should be enough to block all their LoS. -Temporal chains will make them not only fire less, but move slower to the side of the wall. CONS: Minor cons for minor pros :( -Cooldowns: -Line of Sight: I don't know if frost walls block the LoS, but that can be problematic either for targeting, and for desync. -Burst of damage: I'll only cast the wall once I'm hit, and will be cast in front of the enemies, so all the projectiles already in the air in that moment, will remain in the air. -Radius of Blasphemy: I'll be running blasphemy, so I'll have to keep it reduced to not overwrite Temporal Chains until I'm going for them. I'm all ears to alternatives. Arrow dancing isn't possible because I pick Iron Reflexes. Would be nice to have fortify somehow automatic, because the plan until now is to gemswap at bosses. EDIT: Animated Weapon's life is 888 From this we know
Spoiler
Weapons would walk aimlessly:
