Titan Quest?/resists

So I'm digging POE and everything and look forward to even more work and hours being put into it, but I see a lot of people bashing on Titan Quest (among other games *cough D3*). Anyways, maybe I'm just noob, but since I am fascinated by the classical era and mythology, I really liked Titan Quest. What about it makes most people here hate it so much?

/resists in POE
What is the best way to get resistance? I've hit up a couple of +all nodes but it doesn't add up to much and luckily I found a ring with +all, but it still seems likes elemental attacks rape me and I'm only in normal -_-
Post your character passive tree.

I haven't heard anyone here say they dislike TQ, and a vast number of people that have said they liked it. I know I did.

Passives and gear. You're doing it correctly as far as I can tell.
One thing that helps is when you know you're going into a place with a ton of lightning damage (such as Chamber of Sins), put on Topaz Rings. Even if they're not "awesome" rings, they'll help immensely. Later on, try using a few alchemy orbs on prismatic rings; that should cover most of your bases.
Don't laugh, it is my first character and I'm sure it sucks lol.

I'm working my way up to Body and Soul where I can pretty easily get to Swashbuckler and Discipline and Training. Perhaps I can pick up Celestial Walker, but I would have to pick up some caster nodes on the way. As far as the southern part of the tree, I was heading towards Gallantry, Beserking, and Bravado, but started heading north when I noticed how much elemental damage I was taking.

Anwyays, I'm having fun building it but I think I am doing a poor job. Is it normal to be spread all over the place?

So you can use orbs on prismatic rings? Should I upgrade them to rares? Also, what is the max +resistance those rings can have?

Max on those rings is +12%.
Prismatic rings go from 8-12% all elemental resists.

Using some currency while progressing through the game is good. Orbs of Alchemy turn a white item rare and aren't too expensive, so they're worth throwing on things like onyx amulets and prismatic rings.

It'll feel like this for a while, but not forever.
Just buy or farm for gear that has resistance. That's what I'm currently relying on in Merciless difficulty right now. Later difficulties will be unforgiving with resistance penalty as well, I believe in Cruel you get -20% to all including Chaos and -60% in Merciless.. I managed to get to 50%+ on all resistances (except Chaos, which is sitting in about -41% -.-) through gear even with -60%.

My #1 problem with TQ:IT is the loot drop physic. It literally take a full 1 second for any loot to be available for pickup whether you open a chest or kill a monster, on flat ground. On a slop you'd have to wait for the items to stop traveling down the slop for them to be pickable. Sometimes it take 3 seconds for the game to do this, it's so obnoxious.

Another huge boon, the last zones of IT are just plain unplayable, even on today's high end pc because it lag too much. You have to apply a community patch to fix this and be able to play the game properly. That community patch is a must have, TQ:IT just plain suck without it.

Vanilla TQ was just plain awful, iirc there was no shared stash, the stash was very small and the game require a LOT of stash space, almost as much has PoE.

That being said, TQ:IT with the community patch is very cool, it's on par with D3.
There's no shadow without light.

I've only ever seen one person mention TQ since OB started, and that was today. And they liked it.

So I don't know where you're seeing all this "hate".
I've just seen some people ingame talk about it.
