Hierophant Spark spell totem + Orb of storm
|
With ascendancy launch I want to try a new variant of the dual spark totem build which uses the hierophant's Ritual of Awakening ascendancy point instead of Ancestral Bond skill point. Since my character will be able to damage enemies directly, I want to try the new skill gem Orb of storm as a damage increase for bosses and tough mobs.
The gem set-up would look like Orb of storm + Conc. effect + Lightning pen. + "something". I'm not sure the spark spell totem will trigger the orb of storm though. Even if the lightning skill (spark) is linked to a spell totem support gem, does it still count as a lightning skill? If any of you can enlighten me on the question I'd be happy. Also feel free to leave build exemples and comments on this one, it could help me better understand it. Thank awesome PoE community! |

It's kinda hard to say, because we currently don't have any similar mechanics in the game.
However, my guess is it won't work, it's likely that the orb will trigger only when you use a lightning skill yourself. So, if a totem uses it, nothing will happen, though summoning a spark totem from inside the circle should trigger it. If I may venture one more guess, Conc effect won't work with Orb of Storms, judging by how similar lightning AoEs work, arcing doesn't do AoE damage though it does have an area of effect. That's at least what I expect, I'm almost 100% certain about Conc but the other one is up in the air. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
