Okay, so I keep dying. I literally can not stop dying.

Nope it doesnt, but it maximizes his defend versus his low str using percentage hp nodes.
Armor rating reduces a percentage of damage, i dont see how my information is misinformation. you fail to explain. |

Armour is less effective versus bigger hits, thus the percentage display is almost always incorrect. You failed to read the subsequent post in which is detailed the exact things that are killing him/her; Armour is useless against Chaos Damage and does little to stop the huge damage spike from many Flicker Strikes at once.
Life nodes interact directly with base life so any 8% node is multiplied by your base, +life on gear and integer +life from passive nodes. A single 8% node can give you up to 100 life on a reasonable passive tree, more if you took the +40 life from Oak. Please do some research and read the full discussion prior to trying to help because your solutions were not solutions to the problem at hand (bar the recommendation to pick up Alchemist, which was a good choice). |

Meaning to say a 8% and another 8% nodes stacks?
say your base is 100, does that give you 116 hp only or does it gives you 100 + 8% = 108 and then 108 * 8% again? what i understand is from the above scenario, you are saying that HP nodes is the 2nd scenario and they do stack? integer +life from passive nodes <-- what do u mean by these? |

% nodes are additive. Your total base life is;
50 + (6 * Level) + STR/2 + Life from gear and passives (integer) + 40 (If Oak Normal is taken) This is multiplied by the total % available on all your nodes and thus is always superior to any % armour you can get because of how armour interacts with physical damage and because life gives you a buffer for ALL forms of damage, not just physical. Integer nodes are ones that give flat numbers, i.e; integers. Last edited by Lyralei#5969 on Feb 17, 2013, 11:28:21 AM

I'm pretty tired so I will look through all of this later, but with my amulet (which adds 69 str) my iron grip does give me over 100 dps to my dps rating. My str is 160ish I believe.
As for frenzy, it is an incredible single target damage skill. With 7 frenzy charges (that I have) it increases it's speed and power by 70%, making it's dps even with my low base 1100 dps, 4.6k. I only use this skill on uniques and bosses, I don't use it on regular mobs, as it is indeed a waste of mana. And it does melt them down pretty quickly. I was pretty new when I started and took mana on normal, as that is what I was hurting most in at the time. I wish I had taken hp though, but what can you do. Just wanted to add that. i was in the same situation as u. was totally new to poe without playing CB, so i just followed one of the theorycrafted crit physical builds which gave me 1.6k hp at lv 75... and i got stuck there because 1.6k hp in maps was not cutting it... was dying so much i wanted to reroll another charc because i didnt see how i could earn enough exp to level anymore.
then i spoke to experienced rangers who played in CB, and realised they have well over twice my hp. maurader route was the norm, a far cry from what i did. luckily i had my 16 quest respec points saved up, so together with some regret orbs i got a whole lot more of hp nodes, tweaked my gear for my hp instead of dps, and that let me farm comfortably in maps. now i'm lv 83, havent died in the last 2 levels, at 4.4k hp, and am pretty contented with my ranger :) p.s : i made the same mistake as u n took 40 mana in normal, sad but yea lol. biggest regret i have with my ranger now :( WTS Tons of good stuff : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/379249
WTB Godly MF witch gear : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/346658 Paying VERY well, just let me know if u have upgrades for me |
