How much crit should I grab from the tree? And the best armour for Bladefall?

Hi all,

At lvl 55 I have 25% crit chance 335% modifier. 6500dps.

Because i'm crit crazy - how much %c crit should I get from the tree? (as opposed to going for pure phys damage)

Also, I intend to use light coil. Is there a better armour for pure bladefall? I'm gonna use Divinarius. Are there any other uniques that would make the build more powerful? I'm gathering the best shield is a rare - could be wrong. I'm using facebreakers for the crit.

Thanks in advance.

Well, critical strike chance based players always grab every single critical strike multiplier node from the tree within their reach as well as major critical strike chance nodes. You should not be counting the chance in your head but just grab as much as you can. This is due to current situation in the game that critical strike does not have a damage cap.

I expect Ascendancy to finally change this linearity for some builds at least.
Thx for the replies.

Does '60% Increased critical chance with daggers' (Nightstalker node) - affect my Critical chance for Bladefall (if i'm using daggers obv)
or do i need generic critical chance nodes like Assasination - '30% increased critical strike chance'.

SO would bladefall benefit from the dagger crit cluster - as I'm going to be using daggers.

If i duel wield daggers - will duel-wield dmg affect Bladefall damage?

I'll check out the scion tree.

And thanks again for replies!

Nope. You are wielding Daggers, but Spells are not cast with Daggers. The Serpent Stance cluster does work with Spells for example, because it uses the phrase 'while wielding' (but it's a Staff cluster :P ).
Similarly, because Spells are not cast 'with daggers', you do not gain the dual-wield Damage bonus. It is specifically for dual-wielding Attacks.
Thx so I'll go for generic crit chance and not crit chance with daggers.

well considering you can easily get 360% just from two weapons, you don't want to bust your build on it. sure, get some, but i wouldn't go out of your way for it.

especially with spells you're much better off getting critical multiplier via the tree. just so happens you need to get crit chance to reach crit multi, so just those are really necessary i'd say
There seems to be conflicting advice on this with some saying grab all crit nodes and some saying none.

ATM have grabbed 240% from tree lol, but Im doing ok with defence with

armour 968 1575 evasion 22% block maxed res+light coil. 2500 life 400es near the end of cruel.

So at lvl 60 I have 30% crit chance 375% multiplier. 10k dps

So I'm going all out life now and should get 30% more.

Hope I'm doing the right thing defence wise - I'm going all life es as opposed to aerobatics, which may be a mistake I suppose.

edit - I'm using facebreakers for the crit - are there better gloves?

for gloves, either maligaro's (50% chance 30% dmg) or facebreakers (60% dmg). just depends how badly you need the crit chance.

honestly i'd say you don't NEED any crit chance from passive tree. obviously whatever you get helps, but it just depends what you're doing. blade vortex will surely get more out of a 30% crit chance than say bladefall, since BV hits so often. see what im saying?

next, you can easily get 400-450% crit chance from gear alone if you dual wield spell crit Kris daggers. another 300% from power charges, and 9% flat from assassin's mark. even on a 5% crit chance spell for instance, thats 49-52% crit chance without any from the tree.

so just depends what you're doing, what gear you require, etc. i'd rather give up one equipment slot (2nd dagger) in order to gain like 10 passives worth of whatever else i want
The reason why you are getting mixed answers is because critical strike chance depends on your gear. If you have good base critical strike chance on your weapon, with maligaro virtuosity and rat next and diamond rings of course you need not much from the tree. But hey! These stuff are expensive. I was giving advice assuming that you are poor. If you are rich, then I will agree that the other guy's advice does hold.
