Stat Priorities:
Energy Shield, Resists, and Just enough DEX/STR to get things running.

Then:
Attack speed on gloves and rings.
Spell Damage > Crit Multi > Crit Chance.

On Daggers:
Poignards are best now in 2.2, thanks to the new ways we have to modify base crit chance (crit strikes gem, Assassin ascendancy). Second best are Skeans, followed by Butcher's Knives.

Affixes:
Hits Can't be Evaded
Spell Damage
Any (added ele to spells or spell damage/mana hybrid are optimal)
Can Have Multiple Crafted Mods
Crit Chance
Attack Speed

If you want the best of the best, look for a dagger with regaled hybrid spell damage/mana, or a higher roll of crit/attack speed/spell damage than the master mod affix tier.

As a AssZerker Scion, replace Life Leech with Controlled Destruction.
As an Assassin Shadow, replace Crit Strikes with Controlled Destruction.

Why not Blade Vortex > EK? Because it kills things before you can cyclone them, effectively lowering your range and damage by nerfing your bladefall.

What to play?
Spoiler

CI vs Low Life:
CI is tankier and significantly cheaper. Low Life is more damage. That being said, this build does not lack for damage no matter how you prefer to spec.

Scion vs Shadow:
Scion Assassin/Berserker flavour is undoubtedly the highest DPS variant of this build. You will be required to use Elreon jewelry (-mana cost of skills) for this setup, and you will not be able to use Void Bringers.

Assassin vs Trickster:
Assassin is more damage, but will require the use of Elreon jewelry. Trickster brings survivability in spades and boosts your clear speed by quite a bit.

Malibu's Choice:
After starting Perandus league as a Scion, I'd have to say Trickster, without a doubt. Every version of this build already cuts through monsters and bosses like they're nothing, and thus the most noticeable difference is in your defenses and pure speed. Trickster feels buttery smooth to play and the attack + move speed you gain makes it the clear choice to me.

Hey,

Firstly this build looks like a lot of fun, and I have been tossing up between a COC BF/EK vs. Discharge for at least 2 weeks now. I have decided that I will give this a go first.

Would you mind elaborating on a few extra details for newer players like myself.

What Chest is viable prior to a Shavs? Leveling Suggestions? Tree pathing suggestions? Bandits? I am guessing Kill, Kraityn,Alira?

Thanks and I can't wait to see what this can do.

Ah, I knew I was forgetting something! For bandits it's Kill/Krait/Alira.

For leveling you would just selfcast either bladefall or blade vortex. I leveled with Bladefall personally.

Pre-Shavronne's, you'll want to use a 5 or 6 link ES chest (ES/EVA hybrid will make it easier to get the colors you need). With the sixth link being controlled destruction, I would suggest only switching to Shav's when you have one six linked. Six link rare > 5 link Shavronne's.

For leveling I would follow something like this:

You don't want to get any of the dagger nodes until you're ready to respec.

Also, I can't stress enough that Shavronne's is completely optional. It adds ~40% more total damage, but you'd be completely justified in wanting to play hybrid with something like 3k HP and 9k energy shield. The largest downside to using a Shav's is that you will have to roll five off color if you want to slot in life leech over crit strikes. They key to playing this as a hybrid is really just to use a Ming's Heart and to make sure you've got the reduced DOT crafted onto your shield.
Is blade vortex - pcoc - curse on hit really the best set up? Don't you have to stop and recast it all the time?

It's an extra aura, but wouldn't herald of ice - CoH - Ass mark be better? You generate all the power charges you need from the curse, and you don't have to stop to precast it.

What level would you suggest respeccing?
wouldnt it be more efficient to start as a witch/scion?
I personally prefer the shadow attack speed nodes over the witch 10% spell damage nodes, so that's why I went with shadow. Also, I'm not totally sure how the damage interaction between Force Shaper and the Phys/Chaos hybrid nodes in the shadow start work out, or how much they affect the added chaos from a Ming's Heart, but that's something to consider as well. Scion is an effective start, but I'm sure there's a break point where you have to start weighing the tradeoff between having extreme amounts of crit multi vs less base spell damage. I'm not an expert theorycrafter or anything but I think shadow might have an ever-so-slight edge over the other two.

As for respeccing from self cast to CoC - feel free to do it whenever you have the gear and enough points to pick up the dagger crit and ghost reaver. Probably somewhere in the 55-65 level range.
