No. Go back and read what I said about buffing RELATIVE to range.
Fortify is not exclusive to melee - so obviously it doesnt count. Go back and read sid's post and where I quoted him regarding cost profile. You are obviously not understanding what most people in this thread are trying to say. And yes it is not fking hard, melee was actually good 2 years ago. 1.2 was probably the best state the game was in balance-wise. |

^^ well outside of perhaps a hardcore league im not sure if it was that balanced, crit melee seemed way more powerful then rt for example.
The issue is that everytime you change something or introduce something new op things are born. Im not sure of the answer some seem obvious like trap/chaos/firestorm (which i dont care much about since its slow as for mapping) and bladefall having 120% dmg effectiveness. Perhaps ggg will get more balance after time with ascendancy or perhaps they just want to shift the op meta every major patch. |

" Fortify grants damage reduction upon a melee hit\attack, its being used in ways where playstyles that take that risk can get the damage reduction, this was mentioned as "not a problem" because players are "putting themselves at risk" to gain that buff. We still don't see bow characters weapon swapping to use it or other various users doing it, its pretty much just dagger casters and the people that should be benefiting from it. Melee was strong back when you could go max block and super tanky with 1 hander, but 2 handed melee wasn't better then then it was last patch. Its also very difficult to compare what the game is now compared to then because the monsters, map mods and the design of the game is much different. I think GGG doesn't intend to balance it.
I didn't really play this game for months/year but when I just logged in today and did a 13 map rotation my melee with all slot mirror or close to mirror gear was just the same way walking behind as it was a year ago. It simply is no fun when ranged chars clear stuff screen wide without taking any damage and you can't even run behind them without killing a single enemy. The whole thing should be toned down. Movement speed is way too fast. And the funny thing is I come to this forum to see the feedback of todays users and I see the same crappy arguments of the same ppl. like one year ago that defend this lousy gameplay. lol Last edited by LSN#3878 on Jan 28, 2016, 9:12:48 PM

You absolutely right, if you want to level a little bit as melee you SHOULD and only do exactly MUST do is stay behid all ranged and CoCers while they offscreen kill everything as when you try to come closer to enemys they will ONE SHOTTED you like nothing. Plus even if you try, you can't skill a thing as rangers so fast that you can't even be near them, even running with flasks still not make you closer to rangers. " Also if we do care about truth we should add: Ranged got more Movement speed, that makes them run even without flask like thunder; ++ Ranged got ALOT more support gems that they can use and accumulate MUCH more DPS with right gem setup; ++ Ascendancy class that GGG introduce have better synergy with Ranged and Casters, but SUPER bad with melee; ++ Ranged tree have lots of way to defense and survive now (good example flask duration and flask charges) and more.
