[Talisman HC - 2.1] Main-Hand Glacial Hammer - Budget Friendly - Tanky - Freeze

Hello Exiles. My name is Puf and I'd like to invite you to read and try out my Main-Hand Glacial Hammer guide!

This build's inspiration came from Ghudda's Main-hand Ground Slammer as well as Off-hand Reavers.

o Great versatility from off-hands
o Gain 10% more attack speed, 15% block and 20% more physical attack damage from dual wielding
o Great survivability
o Good clearspeed
o Extremely budget

o Unable to use shields and the benefits coming from them such as life and resistances
o Loses damage by not going crit

Run down and up through the life wheel. Pick up Resolute Technique if you're planning to level as a melee character. Otherwise, pick up the nodes in the Marauder tree, picking up Diamond Skin as needed, then the Templar tree. Mace and dual wielding damage comes last.

74-points

Grab the remaining mace damage from the mace wheel and run down to grab all the life nodes, finally grabbing the last mace nodes. During this point, grab any endurance charges if you want them now.

99-points
http://tinyurl.com/99ptbuild
You should have the endurance charges by now. You can run down towards Iron Reflexes and grab it. Otherwise, prioritize the life nodes. Finish up by grabbing the last dual wielding nodes.

Normal: Help Oak for the flat +40 life
Cruel: Kill all for a passive point
Merciless: Help Oak for +1 Endurance Charge

Glacial Hammer + Melee Splash + Multistrike + Melee Physical Damage

Here is the bread and butter of the build. For your 5-link, I'd recommend Added Fire Damage. Your 6-Link can be gems such as: Fortify, Melee Physical on Full Life, Life Leech, Life Gain on Hit, Faster Attacks or Ice Bite if you don't plan on running Blood Rage.

Leap Slam + Faster Attacks + Endurance Charge on Melee Stun + Fortify

With this setup, leaping into packs become much more useful than just getting in close to use Glacial Hammer. Leaping into packs will generate the Fortify buff and endurance charges to further tankiness.

Cast when Damage Taken + Molten Shell + Immortal Call + Summon Flame Golem

You can use what you like in your CwDT setup. I chose Molten Shell for its substantial armour increase and Immortal Call for obvious reasons. Summon Flame Golem is out of laziness as it refreshes whenever I take damage.

However, you can use a curse, Blood Rage, Phase Run or Decoy Totem.

Curse on Hit + Herald of Ice + Warlord's Mark

When I made my Cold Snap Witch, I liked my CoH setup on Herald of Ice's proc. Since Glacial Hammer freezes, I decided to do the same. You can use about any curse you want implying you have the socket colours. I use Warlord's Mark for the leech and endurance charge generation.

If you like, you can check out my out-dated Cold Snap guide: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1404734

Auras: I run Hatred and Herald of Ice they both synergize with Glacial Hammer and cold damage. You can use Herald of Ash, but I prefer the shatter and CoH setup I have.

Curses: I use Warlord's Mark on my CoH setup. If you prefer, you can use Frostbite, Vulnerability, Enfeeble or Punishment on or off Blasphemy.

Golem: I prefer Fire Golem as it increases my damage. You can also pick Chaos Golem if you want the synergize the Phys Reduction with Endurance Charges.

The mods that you should be looking for in gear are as follows (order of importance):

o Life
o Resistances
o Flat armour/evasion and % armour/evasion
o other beneficial mods

Here is my gear sitting at level 70:

Off-hands

Here are some off-hands I recommend to use:

Low-tier:
Spoiler

Ungil's Gauche
If you need more block in the build, Ungil's Gauche can be a very good item to negate some damage during leveling.
Spoiler

Lavianga's Wisdom
If you're leveling with an AoE skill (Ground Slam/Firestorm), Lavianga's Wisdom is actually pretty good as it not only increases AoE and AoE damage, but gives a good amount of flat life and mana.
Spoiler

End-game:
Spoiler

Relentless Fury
Relentless Fury is an amazing off-hand as it gives a free Culling Strike for pesky mobs and bosses. On Culling Strike you also gain Onslaught for 3 seconds for increase DPS.
Spoiler

Prismatic Eclipse
Prismatic Eclipse is one of the best off-hands you can use. I recommend getting 3 green sockets for insane attack speed for Glacial Hammer and Leap Slam. If I'm not mistaken, if you need mana leech, you can also get 1 blue socket.

This build looks kinda special: Was looking for a build to play with marauder in the new league and yours look like a nice hipsterish build. It is kinda exactly what I was looking for. Id love to see it in action (via video) to see if it fits my needs. This reply is here for you to see that someone read and enjoyed your build =)

+ PS: The formation for your build is just awesome! =)
