You're wealthy when you have enough currency and spare valuable items to not need to farm more for any interesting build. Just pay for the items pay for the respec and go.
If you can do any build you want on a whim, you are wealthy. Keep PoE2 Difficult.

In standard, I have more than enough to build virtually any top-end build I want, buy items worth an exalt or two (if they are sold below market value) so I can flip them for profit and such. I have a decent MF dude and a couple builds that piss all over upper-tier maps. In that league I "feel" wealthy, even though I am far from it (I regard those with hundreds of exalts/several mirrors wealthy). In Talisman I got lucky with a couple exalts dropping (along with a few decent items) during my first week of play, so I was able to afford to build a comfortable Templar Arc character that has decent clearspeed and resilient enough to take on most maps (save for reflect and a couple other mods I can't think of right now). I don't have *that* much currency left, but entering into this league it wasn't my concern. I just wanted to check out the new hotness. I don't plan on putting forth anywhere near the effort I do in standard to amass wealth.

Edit - oops smart ass comment is smart. Pfft I have found 3 Exalts since Closed Beta ended - I had 5 in CB. Wealthy - who cares? Boem nailed it - are you having fun? ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.

I only buy something if it seems super interesting but mostly self found gives me enough wealth to have fun and level up.
