Off Topic - Path of Exile donation drive for the Diablo 2 run during AGDQ - Forum

I'm just doing some CopyPasta from reddit here, but I thought I'd post here as well for visibility. " Quoting UberElite: Context for those that don't know what AGDQ is: AGDQ, or Awesome Games Done Quick, is part of Gamesdonequick which holds an event twice a year. It's a speedrunning marathon stream that goes for 7 days straight featuring many different games. All donations and ad revenue during the event go towards charity, to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. You can find the stream at http://twitch.tv/gamesdonequick The runs for Diablo 1 and 2 are currently scheduled for 11 AM EST and 11:30 AM EST although very subject to change, it being AGDQ and all. I thought I'd bring up some attention to this for those that don't know, as most of us here probably loved Diablo 1 and/or Diablo 2. Diablo 1 and 2 are both inspirations to PoE and without them, Path of Exile would probably not be here today. I know there was a lot of interest over Diablo speedruns in the PoE community as well, having done some speedruns of Diablo 2 myself. I also wanted to bring this up because of donation incentives, and was wondering if we, as a community, wanted to contribute towards some of them. Both games have one for character names as well as other donation incentives which haven't had a lot of donations, although the runs are still around 60 hours away at the time of posting. EDIT: It appears some of us are trying to get *ChrisWilson* to be the character name for D2. Let's go for it! I'll throw in some money as well when I get home today, not much but if we all throw in a bit we can easily hit the top! CharanJaydemyr:some people need to really rethink how they spend their money....I will trash this item if I ever find it on principle...I've seen much cleverer "troll" items get turned down, so I guess GGG gave up trying to enforce that one. Just so you know, the "Kanon" name for the Diablo 1 run was because of me. I do commentaries for the officiel French Restream of AGDQ since 2013, and I did commentaries on the D1 and D2 runs. So Chris lost D1 to the whole french community donating, so you put up a great fight.
