+2/+1 bow crafting

just to confirm that the information in the wiki is incorrect :

Alternative technique:

Choose the preferred base bow with an item level of at least 64.
Craft it into a single mod magic bow with the Sharpshooter's prefix (+2 to socketed Bow Gems) using the technique explained above.
Craft Catarina's Cannot roll Attack Mods meta-crafting mod.
Use a Regal Orb. The Fletcher's prefix (+1 to socketed Bow Gems) is guaranteed to spawn.
Remove Catarina's meta-crafting mod.
Exalt or master craft the remaining affixes.


I followed this method exactly, rolled a Thicket bow with alts till I had a +2 bow gems affix only, added Catarin's Cannot roll attack mods to it, followed with a Regal which did not give the "guaranteed" Fletchers prefix, I got 30% increased stun duration instead.

After reading further in this post and other places it's obvious that this method is dependant on luck that the regal will roll a prefix and not a suffix. Also I believe that Fletchers prefix is not possible to be added (having the Sharpshooters prefix already should prevent a mod of the same type being added, which the Fletchers is) but Paragons (+1 to socketed gem level)

augmentation!!!!!!! if you have only one mod
regal (hope for suffix)
cannot roll attack mods
exalt (you'll get +1 for sure)

cost -> 2ex

And then you will be left with a bunch of useless suffixes when this bow is complete.

There are several ways to craft a +3 bow, some are just more effective than others.

you did not read what I wrote

I'll explain again

roll +2 bow gems with alts
if you get a single mod (+2), augment it
now you have a 2 mods bow, one prefix and one suffix
regal it and hope for a suffix
if you get a prefix, start again
if you get a suffix, add "cannot roll attack mods" and exalt
you'll get +1 gems for sure

is it more clear now?

EDIT: ofc there are several ways to make it, mine is the cheapest (2ex)
EDIT 2: if you want to invest a bit more alterations you can easily get a T1 res as suffix, which is BiS for this kind of bow

same resists, less dps, you spent min 2 times what I spent and, if you want to reroll your shitty dot you need to use divines!!! LOL
I just go to leo and use scour/alch to get 25%+ dot damage

EDIT: mine is better in all the possible ways.. L2P.. no.. L2craft

Choose 2-hand/bow, then you have prefixes on hte left and suffixes on the right and if you click them it will then show the tiers/values on a pop-up thingie (might need to disable adblock/noscript if you have any installed on your browser)
