100% of lightning damage taken as fire bug?




I use Bladefall and lightning coil and the less lightning resist i have, the more damage i do to myself against reflect physical. Bug or Working as intended?

I really hope it's a bug. If it isn't, then I don't see how it's even a useful amulet to wear when compared with nothing. You would want to be able to gear without bothering to get lightning resistance, that's the nice advantage. If you can't even do that, then you still have to cap lightning, and it's greatest virtue is letting you get extra light res with Rise of the Phoenix, which hardly merits the sacrifice of a neck slot. Like, even if you're wearing RotP there are better options costing about 1 chaos.

So, ya, GL. Hope it's a bug. Considering the rest of 2.1, your chances are good I'd say.

Wondering what other lightning degeneration effects there are? Would be amazing if I could run around with -60 lightning resistance but I need to know if I can fully avoid deadly shit.

For example do degen effects (chaos zombies, bears, miscreations) in a %extra damage as lightning map do lightning damage?

Nope. Shock and Horror is the only Lightning degeneration I can think of, but maybe Vinktar Square has some surprises too.

Well with my RF Build i have 89 fire res and 99 fire res with flask so its still very strong, basically immune to fire and lightning, also considering how much lightning degen actually pops up (Vinktars square? and Shock and horror)

Still hoping to get a mod answer from this

Had a chat with Henry_GGG in game. He told me the lightning degeneration not being reduced is intended but he is not sure if the lightning coil interaction is correct (I tested at 75 light res and 21 light res, physical hits were substantially larger with 21 light res)
Wait what?

These damage taken conversions don't include degens?

I guess that makes sense, as it would seem silly to have Lightning Coil not only reduce the initial hit of puncture but take off bleed damage as well.

However... this completely makes these 100% conversion amulets somewhat useless as you still need high resists for every element -.- (is there a cold degen boss?)

I can see rare t4 talismans that provide other stats as being useful still especially ones that convert 50% of

element to fire for righteous fire builds
element to cold for flask builds that can spam taste of hate
element to lightning that use the Agnerod Staff.

But 100% conversion + another double implicit? Ehh no thanks. The only one that might work is a 100% Cold to Fire, as I can't think of any cold degen.

yea i also tested the phys reflect definetly hurts more with less lightning res. hope its unintended!

lightning to fire works, only shock and horror has lightning degen

dominus' cold "totems" is a cold degen im pretty sure
But why leave out degens? Normal resistance affects them. It smells more like a consequence of the way the code works than design. Outta change it if you ask me.
I'd be happy if it worked on lightning coil's conversion too because then we can run around with -60 light res and only need to get some for torture chamber boss and vinktar square as I believe those are the only sources of lightning degeneration in the game.
