Unable to MapViewOfFile in MapChunk. Error code 8
Hey GGG,
since 2.1 Talisman League I have a lot of crashes like the other players. Every 5-6 Map I got a crash, the crash not only occur by loading/entering a map, it also happens while I am running the maps. I read your hints in forum post here, but it is not very helpful. You guys say it is the lag of memory, but 16gig ram should more then enough. At least I have a ram-workload of 38%. PackCheck.exe used with no problems. My System:

Best Regards Teasev €: My graphic card has only 4gig memory, but in the dxdiag it shows 12gig memory. So the card used some memory from the ram memory right. Is this a problem that poe dont have enough memory? Last edited by Teasev#3018 on Jan 3, 2016, 4:30:25 PM

Due to memory fragmentation you might still get the issue even on 64-bit systems with 16GB of RAM. The process itself is still only 32-bits.
Just ensure also that you don't have PoE set to any Compatibility Mode on the shortcut/exe. Otherwise, how much Memory does PoE show as using before the crash happens? Are you running other applications in the background like a Browser with multiple tabs, audio, video streaming, etc? Anything that would use up a lot of RAM? |

" - I am playing PoE through Steam.exe and this poesteam.exe shortcut has no compatibility settings. - Didn`t know how much Memory PoE exactly is using when the crash occurs, but normaly if I look in the taskmanager my memory-workload is about 38%. - While I am playing PoE in window mode, I am running Mozilla in a small window for a movie stream, and some tabs with poe-trade and some stuff. |
