[2.1 need advise] Onslaught Lightning Axe
Hello everyone.
This is work in progress and any tips on how to improve are welcomed. While I'm not new to PoE, I'm very casual, non-competitive type of player, so there might be some very obvious flaws here...
Introduction
I always wanted to make a character with melee-to-projectile skills, but always felt like the gems are missing something.
Then 2.0 happened, Lightning Strike was buffed and it was the thing. To spice things up I wanted some additional mechanics that is also compatible with Ascendancy classes already shown. The endpoint is Onslaught Lightning Axe Ranger (will be Raider in Ascendancy) Pros: <Work in Progress> Cons: - Onslaught passives seem to be a waste in Atziri fight - no Resolute Technique I just dislike the fact that many things about gear will be like "I wish you to be something else" and then some parts of passives wasted on top of that. Need to level up to see how good my chance to hit will be on higher levels. But even if will end up being not very good, I would not take RT and call it totally personal preference <Work in Progress>
Skills
(G-R-G-R-R-G/U)Chest armor:
Lightning Strike -- Added Fire Damage -- Faster Attacks -- Multistrike -- Weapon Elemental Damage -- Physical Projectile Attack Damage/Physical to Lightning <Work in Progress> Important quality bonuses: Lightning Strike - 2% chance to Pierce for 1% Quality - better clearing speed
Passive Tree
Bandits
Normal: Oak
Cruel: Kraityn Merciless: Kill all/Kraityn I tend to take Kraityn because Ascendancy class can increase my chance of gaining a Frenzy charge
Gear
You need a little INT on gear to use maxed gems.

There's a lot of room for improvement here, but I will observe that your "cons" could be addressed by switching this to a mace build and using Kongor's Undying Rage. Effectively gives you RT, and still a chance to use Onslaught even when you're not killing stuff.
