POE is overloaded with skill effects

I can´t play this game in full parties.

Blade Fall, Ice Rain, Discharge, Shockwave Totems, and many other unnecessary overdriven skill effects are cancer to my eyes.

I know people who feel sick when they look at the game.

It´s really spastism and too much ongoing on the screen.

Also dangerous for survivability. It´s really too much.

Agreed. It's one of the primary reasons I play solo. On an occasion I will party up for a boss (Dom/Malachai) and can't wait for it to be over. Hard on the eyes and hard to see what the hell's happening most of the time.
Guild Leader - LÉGÄCY

POE is happy good luck fun time for great imperialistic leaders!
Playing in a full party of effect stacked spammers is an awful experience, from the technical pov (FPS lag, gateway latency lag) & gameplay pov (confusing, nauseating). It's simply a non-option for me.

Agree. When playing in parties larger than 2 game starts to look chaotic, over-saturated with various effects.

This game grows and grows with every heavy patch, but it doesn't look like GGG really care to optimize the code. I mean, I had a much more stable fps and and less lag spikes back in 2013, when I started to play it. Now my absolutely same rig barely handles it. I wonder if anyone from GGG staff joins Sarn arena sometimes, it's one of the best places where you can feel all that laggy shit. Even 3-4 players in arena is enough to cause those crazy lags and freezes. One of the nastiest skills which DOES cause lags is fire storm.

And it's far far better than it was just a year ago...tbh it actualy manages it all quite well considering, 2 bigger games tanked to sub 1 fps because of skill effects and thats with stuff to reduce them/not show more than x amount

A toggle of party member skill effects and even own skill effects would go a long way. Also a toggle for friendly pets, cosmetics, tp cosmetics and so forth. Anything that could possibly impact frame rate imho.

Agreed also. The price of diversity I take it.

That's a reasonable assumption, but my opinion is it's more about the colour palette that gothic horror is limited to. To counter this effect G3's over relied on bloom effects, which get very overwhelming very fast. Combined with G3's rather poor use of visual cues (sorry guys, I love ya) it makes the game a fuster cluck of the highest order. Doesn't help that most builds develop weirding way speed to spam their glowy balls of fire.

Great ideas. I think it'd be nice to grey out dead enemies a bit too. After every first wave there's piles of bodies everywhere like a fucking (as opposed to a literary) orgy, and I can't see who's alive anymore because they're wearing flesh patterned camouflage.
visual effects were always very intense in poe, hasn't really changed over the years.

if anything it has gotten better when it comes to survivability when attacking anything unidentified, we've had thorns, reflect and corrupted blood that killed you instantly.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
I wish we could just toggle it. I would play on minecraft graphics if I would mean I could run a smooth game.

Plus the random talisman patch 5 second screen freezes is terror itself for my HC char.
