Yes, since the initial hit will do less damage, the poison based on the hit damage will do less damage over time.

But poison can stack, so Multistrike is still really good w.r.t. poisoning.

ya i know initial hit will do less damage

cuz GGG says

"if Poison is linked to an projectile attack, the damage of the Poison status effect is also affected by the Projectile Damage stat in addition to the initial hit damage allowing to benefit twice from any increases to projectile damage"

so now im linked it with melee attack and Multistrike

is poison status effect damage also affected by Multistrike in addition 30% less damage ?

Oh, you were asking does it double-dip/apply twice.

No. `30% less Attack Damage` only applies to the Attack, not damage over time effects generated by attacks.

its strange . with projectile it will effect poison DOT . but with attack it not

is "Attack" are different Keyword with "projectile" ?
Yes, Damage Over Time is never attack or spell damage. Essence Drain and Contagion likely convert Spell Damage increases to Damage Over Time increases for the purposes of their effects, but are at most specific exceptions to this rule (similar to how Crown of Eyes converts Spell Damage to Attack Damage). That said, Projectile Damage is not inherently Attack or Spell damage, and all damage done by a Projectile, including Damage Over Time effects caused by a Projectile, is scaled by Projectile Damage. That's why stuff like Slower Projectiles will apply twice in the damage calculation of a Projectile Attack that Poisons (or, for that matter, Punctures).
Does multistrike apply multiple instances of poison? I tried testing this with frenzy to see if i got multiple frenzy charges and didnt. I tried this with viper strike as well because I thought viper strike actually gave you a counter of how many poisons it appplied. From the wiki it says multistrike doesnt apply more than 1 critical affect and while poison doesnt require a crit I wonder if it got lumped in there with other things that do. So if multistrike doesnt apply 3 instances of poison would double strike apply 2? or dual strike? wondering if the 1 instance of poison is specific to multistrike. or is poison applied per instance of attack not per hit?
Crit is based per activation of a skill. This is a separate mechanic. same with Frenzy charges generation.

However for Poison, Multistrike will apply per hit, therefore will put 3 stacks of poison for attacks that poison with multistrike.

although strangely enough, i found proccing a discharge (in my case via CoMK) reset the 'once per activation' generation of charges, at least in the case of ECoMS

(used a very long distance cyclone, which normally can only generate one charge with ECoMS, but when i triggered discharges with CoMK, i'd be able to gain another endurance charge from the same cyclone afterwords.)

Anyway, as it pertains to poison+multistrike, there is no double-dipping penalty for it, as the penalty on multistrike is 'less attack damage'. And the poison will apply on every hit (or will roll the chance to apply, in the case of chances to poison). There is no kind of dissonant interaction between multistrike and poison, you don't need to worry about making anything less ideal with them.
