Arc build - Witch vs Templar and why?

Arc. Arc is nice and satisfying, easy to run and very mage-y. Also very scalable, which most archery skills are not. The only reason Tornado Shot isn’t the definition of lame is because that title will forever be held by Cyclone in its infinite variations. Yeah, Tornado Shot is good…but only if you run it with GMP and InfiniPierce. There’s basically only one Tornado Shot build, and it’s boring.

Heh, don’t get me wrong, I love archers and have since the Diablo 2 days, but Tornado Shot is meeeeeeh. Always preferred Lightning Arrow myself for archers. LA’s even better now that Essence Sap (which used to be Spirit Void) is now 1% universal attack damage leech on top of 2 flat mana per hit. If you have mana troubles with anything attack-based after taking Essence Sap, you need to rethink your build.

Still intending to give Shrapnel Shot a good once-over at some point here, too…

Anyways. The Iron Arc Templar thing is a great start to Path of Exile. Kinda hard to top for a gateway character, really. I can’t think of anything better, at least.

Just follow ziggyD's guide. Skip the dual curse. use blasphemy to run enfeeble, this is the single best defensive set up you can get easily.
