Weird Noise Whenever I Open POE

Okay, I tried to look for a thread about this but havent had any luck. Essentially whenever I open POE, this weird noise starts in the background, like a deflating balloon or like a the sound of dial up. I've tried restarting but I'm not very computer saavy, my sound works fine for everything else. Could anyone shed some light on how I can fix this please?

Is the sound coming from the game or the monitor or the computer itself?
You can try running with --nosound or -ns to see if it makes a difference. |

" If you turned off the game sounds and the sound is still there, it's not coming from the game... but that's why I want you to try -ns. -ns completely disables all sounds from PoE. It's not possible for PoE to make sounds at that point. So if there are still sounds, it's not coming from PoE. |

It's not a problem with the standalone client, nor with Steam's!

Unless you're able to identify the sound, there's not much we can do for you.
We've already determined that PoE can't be making the sound as sounds were completely disabled (unless you did it wrong). Are you sure the sounds are coming from the speakers themselves and not the monitor or some other hardware? It wouldn't be the first time I've seen reports of monitors making noises due to refresh rates and other things. |
