The Western Forest
The Western Forest is a poorly designed zone. Nearly every time I go there I desync upon zoning in, and stay more or less desynced the whole time. It is practically unplayable. Part of the reason that it is practically unplayable is the fact that the monsters often detonate next to the player.
In addition, I would advise seriously rethinking the monster population levels in that zone. If you are going to have humanoids that run straight at the player, often in groups, and detonate after a short interval, those monters need to do far less damage or be spread across the map differently. I've logged out multiple times now when doing The Western Forest solo on my marauder because it is just too teeth-grindingly annoying. In an action RPG, it's very important to make sure that each different area is relatively "fun" to play, and The Western Forest in Act 2 is not even remotely fun. It's so bad that it takes away from the overall game's fun quotient. In contrast, the zone immediately adjascent to The Western Forest is very well done and feels more like a action-packed romp. The Western Forest, on the other hand, feels like the population of the zone punishes the players needlessly. This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.
