XP trade por "skill reset"

I'm new to forum, but i have been watching the game for some time.

I was very impressed with the character creation system, which has influences from traditional RPGs (FF 7 systems of the gems in items) and in action games like GoW (the tree and skills). However, due to the huge tree developed skill, I think a reset skill is necessary. However a "full reset" would cause a great loss of replayablility.

It was mentioned in the forum it will be possible a partial reset, provided by quests or rare items being planned about a reset of 6 (or more with the rare items) skill to relocate throughout the life of the character. Well I think that's a good number for experienced players who are familiar with the tree of skills and know the available items in the game. However, for new players who are learning the game that number is ridiculously inadequate, thereby forcing newcomers to feel frustrated when they are all familiar with the game and making them feel their time thrown off by having to give a character .

A solution to satisfy these two types of players would create a method to reallocate skill where the cost of action costs is a fixed Persentage XP needed to level up. This way new players can reallocate skills while their characters are at low levels by giving them time to be introduced to the system since the cost of reallocating XP at low levels and relatively inexpensive.

(As I have not played the game without beta key, these numbers are without basis, interpreted only as a guess)

In my head the system would look like: the cost of relocating a skill cost 15% in normal mode and hardcore mode 30% of xp needed for a LV up.

Character lv 1-25: new players would not have much trouble to relocate all skills if they feel that the path chosen is not meeting the expectations. The experienced players can choose skills for fast leveling and when they are close to lv 25 make a full or partial reset to follow the intended path.

Lv 25-50 characters: the intermediate players can make subtle changes or partial resets.Ex. change the sword specialists skills expert in the axe specialists skills. Experienced players may wish to use the reset to achieve partial requirements for weapons obtained with other characters or minor fixes.

Lv 50 + characters: now all players are experienced and that the cost of 15% to reallocate skill is very high. Thus the skill reallocating would be used in severe cases (serious flaws in character, ex. witch dying too much) or in case of unexpected events like getting a Great Iten, but the requirements are not met.

I consider myself a hardcore gamer. But a game that scares new players or players without a lot of patience only for not having a system reset skill that meets this group a serious flaw in game design.

So forum what do you say?

I am assuming some sort of feature will be implemented. My suggestion would be so that the more you level up, then the less free chance's you get to relocate skill (with warnings). And the more you relocate, the less you can later on. Eventually say after lvl 60 or so - no one can relocate any points. Forcing more careful assessing and as you are more used to the game, you should have greater understanding.

Your connection idea to loosing XP I'll back aswell.
But I have not seen enough of this game to challenge yours or my own argument. And I am also concerned about any accidental skill setting in a place you don't want to go, but there are probably more pressing matters.

or even everyone being allocated a certain amount of skill resets/back-tracks, and you can swap these for other items/passives etc... But thats means more balancing. I'll just be thankful to the admins, what ever they choose.

Starting i can say. Very nice english ^^

Going back to the subject.
The It's true that the amout of skills can both make you dizzy and confused on the begining.

I belive that skill reset is a must in games like this.
On the other hand, i think that the "POE" creators wont give unlimited posibility to reset them.

I remember one MMORPG "Ragnarok online" There was this skill reset npc for free till lvl 30 or 40 im not sure now.
After crossing that point you couldnt Reset at all.

Still it helped new players to get into the game.
It helped them to know whats good for them whats bad.
Of course considering that making lvl 30 - 40 is not a big deal when max is 99 :)

In the upcoming patch you'll be able to have a few partial respec points from quests, and as many more as you want from a random currency item drop, though the currency item will be rather rare so it won't be cheap/trivial to reset using those... it would be very expensive to do major changes.
