Golden Plate worth crafting?

Hi,
I have found that Body Armour in standard:

According to poe mods it has 3 t1 mods with 2 max and 1 t2 mod.
Golden Plate isn't a realy good base, but the mods so fare are awesome.
Is it worth crafting? E.g. with master crafted suffix( cold res)->exalted and hope for:
high Local Armor +% (best)
Local Armor +% / Base Stun Recovery +% (good)

The worst thing would be:
Physical Dmg To Return To Melee Attacker

A not so different Armour goes for 1.5ex and another for 90ex onb poe.trade. What would be the value of that chest if i hit the right thing?

I am by no means an expert on trade value but if I sunk an exalt into that I would expect to be out an exalt. Resistances are good but the most you could get for arm is like 1600 or so? And a very low chance to do so.

But it has already a good +armour (mid t1).

If i hit max t1 (120%) i would get 1852 armour(with 20q).
If i hit min t3 (65%) i would get 1428 armour(with 20q).

So the chance for good armour isn't that low. It is about 1/6 (=1/3 for Local Armor +% and 1/2 for t1-t3)...
Or is my math wrong?

I would not spend on an exalt on it. It is fairly average this late in the game's life.

I believe higher tier rolls are weighted lower. It's not like 20% chance for T1, 20% chance for T2, 20% chance for T3, etc. If it was that simple then people wouldn't spend hundreds, thousands of alteration orbs trying to hit Tyrannical on Harbinger bows. So basically your chance of hitting the armor roll you need with an exalt is much lower than you think.

Personally I wouldn't drop the ex on it. If you want to do something, then 6 socket it and throw fusings until it 5 or 6 links, but I would sell it after that. Or use it. It's very good, after all.

Unlinked you will be very hard pressed to sell any rare chest for more than one or two exalt at most.

Definitely not worth an Ex. If you plan to keep it then work out what will benefit your using character the most then Mastercraft to enhance it, whether that's cold resist or extra armour. This way when the new balance comes in and your character changes, you can scour the Mastercraft and add something that works with the new meta.

If you're looking to profit, then just sell it as is. Yes there's one for sale at 1.5 Ex but if it's still there, then the seller hasn't obtained that 1.5 Ex. Chances are if you roll something average you'll actually devalue the item because you've restricted a future Mastercraft that could have worked for someone.

Me, I'd keep it, 6 socket and throw a few fusings to get 5 - 6 link and it would be a great leveling chest and probably get you through quite a few maps. What else could you get for that 1 Ex you were going to spend on the armour and would it be better spent elsewhere for a better upgrade?
