One-Shot calculator

Hi,

I've made a spreadsheet for calculating damage reduction from physical damage so you can see how much damage a monster needs to do to actually one-shot you. This is thus the same as your effective life for a single hit. I've also included multi-shots up to 10.

It includes an armour/evasion calculator based on your gear and passives (including Iron Reflexes and Acrobatics). Items such as Lightning Coil and Abyssus and skills such as Chaos Golem and Arctic Armour. It also has a life calculator, also per gear piece, which can be used to calculate your being one-shot potential. And per slot an on/off switch.

NOT included are:
- Flasks (such as Taste of Hate)
- Evasion/dodge

Usage
The sheet is protected, so download it and do with it what you like. It fits perfectly on a screen of resolution 1920x1080. So if you have a lower resolution, zoom out a bit and save yourself an excessive amount of scrolling.
The color codes are
  • Green: edit
  • Gray: don't edit
  • Blue: important value

That's about it.

Formulas
These are the used formula's in the spreadsheet
"
TotalDmg = PhysDmg + EleDmg

PhysDmg = RawPhysDmg * (1-ArRed-Endu-SoulSteel-ChaosGolem) * (1-Fortify-Shock-Abyssus-...) * (1-AA)
ArRed = Armour / (Armour + 10*RawPhysDmg)
RawPhysDmg = RawDmg * (1-Converted)

EleDmg = RawEleDmg * (1-Resists)
RawEleDmg = EleDmg * Converted

With
  • TotalDmg: the total amount of received damage
  • PhysDmg: the total amount of received physical damage
  • EleDmg: the total amount of received elemental damage
  • RawPhysDmg: the unreduced amount of incoming physical damage
  • ArRed: the % reduction from armour
  • Endu: the % reduction from endurance charges (4% reduction per charge)
  • SoulSteel: the % reduction from the Soul of Steel notable on the passive tree
  • ChaosGolem: the % reduction from the Summon Chaos Golem skill
  • Fortify: the % reduction from the fortify buff
  • Shock/Abyssus/...: all % increased damage taken. This also includes Hyaon's Fury and The Princess
  • AA: the % less from Arctic Armour
  • Armour: well, your armour value, duh
  • RawDmg: the total unreduced amount of incoming damage
  • Converted: the % physical damage convert to something from either Lightning Coil or Cloak of Flame
  • RawEleDmg: the unreduced amount of incoming elemental damage

The caluclations happen on the hidden 'Calculations' sheet. If you do notice anything wrong, let me know!

Here's how you can unhide a sheet.
- In Google Spreadsheets: click on the menu item in the lower-left corner next to the list of sheets and click the sheet you want to unhide.
- In Excel: Right click on any sheet in the list of sheets below and click Unhide...
- In OpenOffice: go to the menu Format > Sheet > Show

Contributions
Thanks to Raics and Vipermagi for providing the correct damage mitigation formulas.

Very useful. Thank you!
"±# X Damage Taken from Y" is missing. Can be found on Ashrend or bramblejack for example these can do quite a bit since Damage Taken mods are applied after Damage Reduction.

And please don't hide calculations and skill values, they're quite important since things goes out of date so quickly in this game. I had to use google to find these hidden sheets... Feel free to lock the sheets but don't hide them.

"Converted" is not the right word either for the "#% of X Damage Taken as Y Damage", see: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/528343#p4739895
The wiki uses Damage Shift if you want a suggestion.

Done, thanks for mentioning! These will not really help you from one-shots though, but added it for completion's sake.

I'll add a section to explain how to show them. I like having everything cleaned up and tidy and everything hidden from the end-user. As it should be with any decent program.
If enough people want me to unhide them, I will of course.

Change it to "% taken as" as suggested.

Great tool.
Appareantly my new build for the talisman thing will be pretty much immune to anything below 1k damage :D
And for a oneshot 15k raw pdamage is needed.

Anyway, enfeeble is missing in your sheet!
Othwerise, awesome stuff.
Meta-game holds no value - Play with what you like!

Hmm, adding curses will get tricky since boss monsters have a different curse effectiveness... I probably need to add another column for that and the formula's will become even more daunting :s

Thanks for using my tool and the suggestion :)

I've been using the calculator and it's great! But now I'm making a MoM build and I noticed the sheet does not have MoM. Could you please add it?
Come to think of it, MoM doesn't need to be in the calculator, because it's not really mitigation.

There's another thing I missed, though: aura effect. I'm able to input values for Grace and Determination auras, but I didn't find any option to add % Increased Effect of Non-Curse Auras from the tree, which would boost armour even more.
