Spell critical strike problems

I'm fairly new to the game and I have put points into Annihilation and the other critical strike chance perks around it. I have been looking in my character stats for spell crit chance and I can't seem to find it, is there a way of viewing this? I am considering refunding those points. Any help is appreciated thanks :D

When you select a spell on char sheet you can see its crit chance gets higher on picking those passives. No need to consider a refund if you're a spell user, as long as it can crit those nodes will work fine, I don't think there are any effects in the game currently that don't work the way they should, nothing significant at least.

As Raics was saying, make sure your spell can crit. If you mouse over the skill gem it will list it's base crit chance. For instance ball lightning has a base crit of 5%, however incinerate doesn't have a crit chance listed and thus is incapable of critting.
