This has been coming for quite some time. The evolution of people becoming immune to antibiotics from overuse was bound to start showing up as a permanent gene sooner or later, looks its going to be sooner. doctors throw out antibiotics for next to nothing now, when in reality they should be used only when absolutely needed and our children and grandchildren will pay for it down the road.
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

As Peachii said, we've had this coming for a long time now.
Anyway, it's not the end of the world, just evolution reasserting itself after we found a temporary backdoor. Since our gene pool is weakened from the many, many people who wouldn't have survived and reproduced without antibiotics, we might suffer a difficult initial hit, but we'll pull through and become stronger in the long run, or at least I hope so. These are all guesses, we can never really know what future cataclysms we might have to endure and what miraculous technologies and scientific breakthroughs we'll make. We're living in an unprecedented moment in history. Social and technological advancement has moved in small and steady steps in the five or six thousand years of known history... until the age of enlightenment, where it started on a gradual upward curve. The curve became exponential in the twentieth century and rocketed sky high by the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st. Each year now brings changes that would have taken decades, maybe even centuries some time ago. It might be terrible or wonderful, depending on how we look at it. Or perhaps both. One thing is certain: we will not be bored, for we are living in interesting times. The Wheel of Nerfs turns, and builds come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the build that gave it birth comes again. Last edited by Bars on Nov 20, 2015, 9:20:07 AM

One does not simply backdoor on nature without expecting a gentle nudge in the future reminding you of your place.

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
