Which do you do first?

normal difficulty: random, mostly kaom first to get some more levels for the barkhul pitfight

cruel: depends on my fire resistance, if it's maxed then kaom first to get some more levels for the barkhul pitfight

mercyless: not doing the quests because i don't want to lose xp because of the barkhul pitfight and there are no passive point rewards after you saved the ghost in the mines.

Always do Kaom first. I don't dislike the area (even though there's totems and Rakango) but I just really like Daresso's arenas. The path to Daresso is like my desert after eating the main meal (Kaom).

Kaom first to get the red-brown tileset, on which I can't see crap, out of the way. Also hate all the annoying mosters: burrowing dogs, burrowing rakangos, flame golems with a buttload of hp, unique totem boss in first area, that deals more damage than Kaom himself.

On the other hand, Daresso I tend to do even in Merc, one of my favorite areas in act 4.

always Daresso first, unless I'm foolish enough to be playing a league that has Beyond mobs, then I skip it forever.

Daresso has always been way easier and faster for me. I usually put off Koam until I overlevel the Malachai fight by at least 4 levels. the Named totem group in Koams is much harder for me than anything else in either Koams or Daresso.

I seem to be in a minority that actually enjoys Daresso's zone. I farm in the second portion of it sometimes. I absolutely hate Kaom's zone. Most of my deaths since A4 have been there. That being said, I do kill Kaom first...typically I run Daresso's zone to the waypoint, then Kaom's zone all the way to Kaom. Then I go back to Daresso's zone for the big cheese himself.

Given how much I dislike act 4 (a lot) I usually do 'Hey bro, you mind rushing me through act 4?' first.

We should start asking the generous people who gave us Solaris 2 and Dream Lunaris waypoints back in the day to start giving us Kaom and Daresso waypoints. They're not quite Solaris 2, but they'll at least cut out the more painful bits of these zones.
