Did the meta-mod crafting system get nerfed?

Like... did it egt change din any way? Ive been following the instructions on how to draft +3 staffs, and the "average of 35 regal/scours" is comeplte BS. Ive burned out over 150+ of each using the crafting method revealed during the "mirrorgate" inncident and now im jsut pissed off becuase i have not rolled +2 fire. Im using an iLVL 80 staff, already 6L, with the colours i needed for SRS build... but CANT GET +3.

So did GGG nerf this method of crafting because it was finaly made public, and heaven forbid that EVERYOEN get a chance to have good items?
They didn't change anything. "average of 35 regal/scours" -> Keyword there is average. Some people took less, some took more. You are taking more. RNG is RNG.

To be fair, "average" is not the appropriate word to use here, but rather "expected result."
I wrote this in a previous thread:
"
The rate to roll +2 fire is either 1.534% or 1.16%, I’ll go with the latter. Since a regal can roll a prefix or suffix, the probability would be half of that. It would take an average of 119 regal/scours at 50% confidence, 238 at 75% confidence, or 395 at 90% confidence. Granted, if you craft an item that is exactly item-level 55 you will have a higher chance to roll since the higher level mods cannot be rolled.

See thread 1403211 for an alternate method of crafting the +3 staff (uses more exalts, less regals)
To back up previous posters. From all my experience in PoE, "average" should not be used, when u talking about RNG and PoE. The variance is so big here, making all statements, which use "average" useless. Only if u do something ever and over and over again, than "average" will have a meaning. If u do it only few times, than expect to have huge difference from "average" in good or bad way.

Hahaha, you should use Item level 55 staff, trying in an ilvl 80 means a lot more regals to get +2, because at that level the staff has more mods to roll.
I make three +3 fire staff two ilvl 55 and one ilvl 72...
With first 55 I spend 37 regals, with the second 39 regals, the fu*** problem comes with ilvl 72 staff, 108 regals for +2 fire...

Shit happens mate
Check this out... just in % local physical damage an ilvl 80 staff have 2 more mods than ilvl 55 staff (cruel & Tyrannical), and that it's just one mod....
