Hyrri's Ire, extra crispy vs. original recipe


Can anyone give any input on Hyrri's Ire new vs. legacy, which is better?

for the purposes of my question, I am asking in regards to an evasion based bow build.


Legacy gives Acrobatics - 30% chance to dodge attacks, 50% less armor & energy shield, 30% less block chance.

New version gives 10% chance to dodge attacks, 10% chance to dodge spells.


Legacy has questionable drawbacks. If you are evade/bow build then the drawbacks are nothing serious. Melee + Armor/EV would be much more significant. However, if you plan to go Phase Acro, you still have to spend the points to go through Acro to Phase, making the biggest benefit useless.


New version gives no direct downside but you only get 1/3 the Acro and Phase Acro, at a savings of 5 skill points.


Thoughts? am I missing something obvious? (I often do)
new is tons better as acro plus the dodge mods stack. new all the way.

Yeap, the stacking is why it's so good. You can take it even further and get atziri's Steps, and try to corrupt them or just buy a pair with a corrupted implicit 3-4% additional dodge chance, creating a whopping 54/55% dodge chance in addition to normal evasion.
Sure, the lab can be hard, but it's pretty easy if you're properly geared, and not terrible at the game.
Or you can play an iron reflexes build with 10% dodge, 10% spell dodge, plus whatever block and spell block you can come up with ;)

Alternatively, run iron reflexes + acro/phase acro + hyrri's ire and atziri's step.

Then run determination and grace, it's what i am doing atm.

12.5k armor / 50% dodge and 56%spell dodge is not bad for a 2-hand character.

I guess the combination of Grace + Det can somewhat cancel or diminish the pain of Acro's debuff.
Curious how your DPS is with most of if not all mana reserved for defensive auras.

I am using an oro's cast on melee kill discharge build with romira's.

Flicker for single strike in a 4-link atm.

Flicker gives 3400 dps atm and the cyclone does 5600 + the comk discharge portion.

Gotta really 5-link that flicker strike though. I don't play for efficiency all the time though, this is just funsys in the 1-month madness running around with an oro's seeing if i make it :D

And goddamn is flicker strike hilarious when you can do it continuously, never used that but it's really fat.

edit : it's more like a test build to test the potential of this defensive set-up. Pretty sure you could go heavy on the deeps if i just went pure cyclone 2-hand dps style.

with Oro's and CoMK the solution that both have an initial umph and scales effortlessly into late game is CoMK + Detonate Dead. Oro's ele build (taking fire related nodes + penetration + AOE) augments DetDead as well creating something that is waaay stronger than sum of separate parts

and since DD cannot be reflected it is pretty damn safe

cool build. is that comk + detonate dead? i see some firestorms there as well. you can also use kingsguard for 100 life whenever an endurance charge is gone.

attack + endurance charge on melee stun might do the trick?
