Find player in game

When I trade something in the forums with a player and he gives me his IGN, how do I find him in game?

Type in "@[insert IGN here]" in the chat (without the quotation marks), press space, and then type your message.

Or you can add him or her on your friends list by copying and pasting the IGN into the box (bottom right corner) on the social screen. Don't forget to press the magnifying button to add the user.

EDIT: Woops, it wasn't a '+' sign as I thought.

Do we have to be in the same server and in the same trade channel or will he receive the message anyway?

beside when you are in the same room (like hideout) and party with such a 'different' player then you 'address' - then you get an automated 'player not online' reply about the one that stands nearby you.

It mostly happens to me on trade: I whisper someone with the name given in the shop thread (or from xyz), all is fine but on the end, in his HO the final 'ty' is rejected.
...or was it fixed in between? (I switched to a party message before leaving to avoid the issue)
