I agree with the map. I founded an issue like playing my first day of beta yesterday. In interior and "dungeons" (prison, caves...) even with the transparency max-off, they are a bit dirturbing like playing. But in exterior, the opposite: even with the transparency max-ON, sometimes it is not enough. I hope you can fix that issue somehow, because I really need to change the transparency each time I enter or go away from some cave/dungeon. Perhaps a minimap option like in Diablo 2, in the corner, little, could be the solution. IGN: Gonorreitor

Agreed. Although I'm used to the way D2 handled their map, I think a minimap would be nicer visually, and practical.

a minimap would be nice but so far what i've explored i'm able to leave the map off mostly and just check it occasionally

The map overlay seems to share a lot of the same hues as the outdoor environments. So even with no transparency, it's quite difficult to see the map outside. Darker areas it is much easier to see. I think Diablo didn't have this problem because they wen't with pretty much a pure white for the map. The light tans and browns used in PoE are much too similar to the colors in the outdoor areas.

There has been talk about having a shadow edge or outline to the map. We know that some areas you just can't see it, or it is all you can see!

I found the map a bit busy. Making it harder to see edges and bridges in particular.

I would much rather having a top right-hand corner mini map. At least have this as an option for a map.

yes! i was about to post about this...but did a search first :D
when playing with shadows and everything on the map works... lots of darkness for the map to contrast against... without shadows...its white on white :< |
