question with dual totem shock nova build

My buddy does insane dps and he told me to run totem on a 4 linik

Totem, shock nova, faster casting, concentrated effect

then also run shock nova on a 5 link
nova faster cast, concentraed effect, reduced mana, increased area of effect.

Now my totems do insane dmg 1.9k dps.

but my main attack for the 5 link has no dps, and it dosent do any dmg, i use a wand. What am i doing wrong??

Sounds like you've taken the Ancestral Bond keystone which removes your ability to deal any damage by yourself.
Reading keystones is kinda a good thing to do.
