Am I pronouncing these correctly?

That's the english language for you, so many rules, then there's those exceptions that are just like wtf.

ex:Colonel is pronounced Kernal

Arkansas is pronounced Ark-an-saw, despite being spelled EXACTLY the same was as Kansas, except with an Ar in front

There are no rules in English spelling. At most, they're conventions or guidelines. English spelling is broken beyond repair.
The issue is known; known now for much longer than GGG knows people are not content with map drops. Jonathan Swift (you know, the one who wrote, for example, Gulliver's Travels) was calling for a spelling reform more than 200 years ago.

Moreover, this thread is worthless without IPA-symbols. What use is it when I tell you "Mjölner" is pronounced exactly as it is spelt? How could I indicate that "ö" sounds more or less like the first e in "were" (like we were, not werewolf)?
Also, happy ghotiing.

This is the correct non-americanized way of saying Mjölnir.

Just wait. We'll get Nuada , Badb, Morrigan, and Lugh and the rest. I think that would be cool. :D Though, I really do love the cultural influence that GGG being a New Zealand company has given the game.
Frankly, English is a clusterf*&k of a language.

Nah, the language per se is great, it's just the spelling that's fubar.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Matua Tupuna - Machua Toopoonah

Ullr - Ooler (like 'ruler' without first 'r')

Hyrri - here ee

Hrimnor - Hrim nor

Chayula - Chay yoo la

Sidhebreath - Sid heh breath (or bree ath)

Lazhwar - Laz war

Quecholli - kay cole ee

You should hear us trying to pronounce the names in Russian. The first one, Матуа Тупуна sounds like a name some monster from a different galaxy might name his pet.

Lazchwarrr Chyyla Ylrrrs ^^

That said, the Russian dub of PoE is *fucking amazing*.

There have been a lot on negativity about it but most of it came from veteran players afraid to leave their comfort zone. When in fact the dub was really good (just fantastic in comparison to most dubs for online games), at least the newcomers had no problem with it. Overall it was so much better than when Blizzard made their first World or Warcraft RU-Ru servers, the memories of the atrocities still give me a shiver.

The whole situation reminds me of the time when Tarja Turunen left Nightwish, new singers were quite alright but not many people chose to give them a shot as an independent new band, most just wanted Tarja back.
