Annoying static noise when playing

Hello,

I have a weird sound problem: whenever I play the game I hear a quiet, but audible and quite annoying static noise coming out of my speakers. The noise is present only when I play POE and not any other game or during daily use. Interestingly, the noise vanishes when I am on the passive skill tree, or loading between zones, so it is present only when I am actively playing the game, or on the select character screen. Playing with the sound options doesn't do anything about the noise. --nosound also did not help, the static noise persists.
Additional info: Audio card POE is running on is TerraTec Aureon 5.1 PCI. Audio drivers are up-to-date, no sound effects are active, applications do not have control over my audio devices.

Please advise, as the static noise is very unpleasant and off-putting.

In case you use nvidia gracard this could be the problem. Google: Nvidia buzzing

Hm, the GPU is indeed a GTX 680.

After a couple of tests it looks like you're right, this seems to be coil whine, and while I don't get much in other, much more graphics demanding games (like GTAV maxed out) or FurMark, it looks like I just got a bad case of my GPU whining in POE. I guess I'll have to play with my sound down form my sound system and up from the sound manager or some shenanigans like that.
