Statement by previous GGG employee
I am curious about something I read on another games forum. An individual that claims they used to work for GGG made the following post:
"I find this so funny how the players are treating the OP, when he is so right. I just left a company called Grinding Gear Games ( out of Auckland, New Zealand ) to a higher paying job at Blizzard. GGG makes Path of Exile and does very well. When i worked for them we took paying players feedback vs non-paying 80 to 20. It worked out well for us/them. If you really think that you as a non paying player have a voice over those who pay you had better think twice. On GGG/POE forums they can tell who pays and who does not buy the color of the text. I am not saying free to play players have no voice, but they have a very small voice to those that do pay. Believe me they can tell on the forums who pays and who does not." GGG, is this really how you view things or is this a person who is just blowing smoke out of their rectum? Yes I am aware it is the internet and anyone can claim to be anything they want. I am just curious if GGG really sees things this way. Link to post I am referring to. It is post number 24. Makes sense, I suppose.
In saying that though, GGG has consistently said that everything in Feedback/Suggestions is read by the staff, compiled, and presented to the Devs/Legion of Balance. A lot of companies have Community Managers and Customer Service Managers etc. but not as many of them would have those positions so close and communicative with the guys at the coalface. == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 == Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years. I sometimes spell it color, when I get tired of my browser telling me my English is incorrect, as though the USofA is the center of the universe. It generates a liter of sweat almost every time it occurs, but I often find the stretch to change the default language settings is a meter too far.
Also, aluminum. == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 == Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years. Best of luck in the future! Last edited by CaptainWaffleIron#2395 on Sep 12, 2015, 2:44:08 AM

Unfortunately, GGG will never see your post.

" The guys obviously a CIA agent planted within the gaming community to spread misinformation and doubt about the existence of extra-terrestrial life and them secretly living amongst us ... I could be wrong,I've been wrong before .. Now where's the rum ? But why is the rum gone ? .. damn aliens Last edited by Temper#7820 on Sep 12, 2015, 3:12:09 AM

I guess this prompts an extra question - Should GGG prioritise feedback from supporters/paying users over those who don't purchase anything? Or should GGG take further steps to open up feedback forums to specific levels of support?
Charan raised an interesting point in another thread, that the quality versus quantity of feedback was impacted negatively by the switch from CB to OB / Awakening Beta opening. I steadfastly kept out of the Awakening beta (and the feedback forum for the most part) so I didn't see it, but I've had similar experiences with seeking feedback in large workplaces/education institutes. If we're going to question the ethics, lets get really nitty gritty :) == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 ==

" The golf club is nice... @GGG - I kid, of course. Titirangi is lovely, if you don't mind West Auckland. == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 == Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years. " Just my opinion but, they shouldn't be prioritizing feedback from any type of paying or potential customer in relation to non QOL issues.I'd prefer they go back to the old tradition of in house testing with a selected crew of testers chosen from a list of names that could provide references to previous experience in alphas/betas. It worked well in the past and as players we all benefited from the exclusion by having a better game presented to us. just an opinion though. Last edited by Temper#7820 on Sep 12, 2015, 3:31:25 AM
