100% Free selfcasted Aura-Totems for everyone
I noticed... since PoE 2.0 everyone can has at least one aura for free.
All you need is: Ancient Waystones, which gives 60% reduced Mana cost for totems that cast auras and: Reduced Mana, which gives (depending on level and quality) 25% - 38% reduced mana costs on any skill (including aura casting totems). Together this is already 85% - 98% reduced mana cost, now add another jewel with the of Efficiency-Suffix or some passives and you can get 100% or more reduced mana costs for totem that casts auras. I tried it out and it actually works. And if you can have more than one totem at the same time? MORE FREE AURAS OF COURSE! Having more than 100% does NOT give you mana back, at least not according to the tooltips. By the way, that wouldn't work with the old Reduced Mana which had a mana multiplier. AND IF I HEAR SOMEONE CRYING ABOUT THE CHANGE OF REDUCED MANA... than I will be annoyed and shout at my monitor! Oh and Generosity does not work with Spelltotem + Aura, sorry. Edit: changed the title. Last edited by SuperMotte#2631 on Sep 9, 2015, 10:25:46 AM

Been using it for a while. Reduced mana cost of skills are better than second jewel tho.
Nice combo: Grace aura for a tough fight or maybe Determination (however ive always preferred ar/ev over pure ar) It is pretty bad for damage auras as you want them all the time. Other scenario is Purity of X for tough added ele map. In short - it is nice concept however its power is limited by: totem duration, scenarios, sockets (3+) and as such ive replaced it with more elaborate cwdt setup. |

I was actually wondering if this was intended and the jewel maybe should change to less instead of reduced.

Check out the 'priestess of rathma' build from 1.3, it was possible even without waystones and RM, it just needed heavy investment. Sadly, there isn't much of a build to be had around it anymore, anyone can use the trick now.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I actually have a character in tempest using a pure support build with soul mantle and trying to vaal an amulet for 3rd curse or get a damning but my build sort of sucks so I need as much life as I can from gear.
Conclusion: the build sort of sucks. You're fairly squishy and even with investment in both totem and aura nodes, to be efficient you have to run ahead of your party to get the totems up faster (even with totem placement speed, the totems cast aura so slow, hard to link faster casting and totem durability support if you want versatility in your totems) and curse the in time to make a difference. More ok in fine tuned groups where you play regularly with a friend and you know what supports they like so you can self cast the primary auras and have others. The build is really cheap when not pushed (+4,5,6 curses, alpha's howl, bm aura options). Really cool jewel that makes this idea a lot more viable :). maybe my setup is just too greedy. I like to put the most offensively helpful auras on generosity full time instead of self casted, and things like purity of fire to help my friend's minions not die to reflect Last edited by biyte#7917 on Sep 9, 2015, 8:34:31 PM

" Right, that's why I went for a summoner instead of a supporter, you go at your own pace and it's easier to catch up with your minions than other players. The build went a few notches up since 2.0, anger affects casters now and wrath is bad ass for revenants. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
