Remember, the Scion is a young woman from a Noble House. She was probably married against her will for political reasons. She despised her husband and was exiled for murdering him.

If you already have the Scion unlocked, she doesn't show up there. She's still a "secret" character to new accounts. You find her there when you're finishing A3 Normal for the first time.

I just took it to mean she was going to kill him like she killed her husband.
